Support for early-stage deep tech startups to validate solutions with industry partners.

Organizer: 28DIGITAL
Deadline: September 8, 2026 (in 2 months)
Categories: Accelerator, Funding
Region: Europe

The Co-Creation Accelerator 2026-2027 is a four-month, challenge-driven programme by 28DIGITAL. It supports early-stage deep tech startups in developing and validating solutions with industry partners to address real-world challenges.

Programme Focus and Objectives

The programme helps startups to:

• Validate core technology at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4–5 and above.
• Strengthen the problem-solution fit of their products or solutions.
• Reduce technical and market uncertainty.
• Build a clear path towards scalability.
• Co-create solutions with industry partners around concrete business challenges.

This is an execution-focused programme rather than a traditional accelerator.

What Participants Receive

Selected startups can receive:

• Up to €250,000 in 28DIGITAL financial support, with no co-funding required.
• Direct collaboration with industry leaders on specific challenges.
• Fundraising assistance.
• Expert training through 28DIGITAL Speed Master and MentorMe.
• Visibility within 28DIGITAL’s innovation ecosystem, including corporates, investors, public-sector organisations and academia.

Support is provided through an equity-based model. Selected startups provide 28DIGITAL with 3.5% to 7% equity in the venture.

Who Should Apply

The programme is intended for early-stage digital and deep tech startups that:

• Are micro or small enterprises with fewer than 50 employees.
• Are incorporated and operating in an EU, Horizon Europe or Horizon Europe-associated country.
• Have been incorporated within the past five years.
• Operate at TRL 4–5 or above.
• Have at least two full-time equivalent team members.
• Possess or control key intellectual property or technology assets.
• Have a working prototype or proof of concept validated in an experimental setting.
• Demonstrate a clear problem-solution hypothesis and early engagement with users, stakeholders or industry.

The programme is not suitable for idea-stage teams without a prototype.

Application Tracks

Applicants can apply through one of two routes:

Open Challenge Track: Apply with an existing corporate partner and jointly define the challenge to address.
Industry Challenge Track: Apply to predefined challenges developed with corporate partners around concrete industry needs and use cases.

Application Information

Applications are accepted continuously throughout 2026 and 2027, with two cut-off dates.

Next application deadline: 08 September 2026, 16:00 GMT+1.

Selected proposals are assessed on excellence, impact, quality and efficiency of implementation, challenge alignment, and strategic fit. Accepted startups are expected to begin programme activities on 16 November 2026.
