The Canadian Cleantech in Mining Mission to Chile is an initiative designed to support Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in connecting with Chilean mining stakeholders. The program facilitates the showcase of innovative clean technologies and aids in the expansion of these businesses into international markets.

Mission Objectives

• Connect Canadian cleantech innovators with Chilean mining stakeholders who are seeking solutions for operational and sustainability challenges, such as improving water management and reducing emissions.
• Provide opportunities for participating companies to identify pilot and demonstration projects for their technologies through targeted engagements at Expo FOREDE 2026.
• Assist businesses in validating and adapting their solutions under real-world mining conditions to strengthen their commercial readiness for the Chilean market.
• Support Canadian companies in building partnerships with local stakeholders and integrating into established mining supply chains to foster more sustainable and efficient mining operations.

Financial Support

• Selected Canadian SMEs may be eligible for reimbursement of up to 75% of eligible travel costs, which includes economy airfare and per diem expenses, up to a maximum of CAD 5,000.

Eligibility Criteria

• Be an incorporated, profit-oriented Canadian SME.
• Employ 500 or fewer full-time equivalent employees.
• Have been in operation for at least 12 months.
• Employ a minimum of five full-time equivalent employees in Canada.
• Be developing innovative, technology-driven products, services, or processes with commercial potential.
• Demonstrate sufficient financial and operational capacity to undertake technology pilots, commercialize the results, and pursue international market expansion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference may be given to companies with at least ten full-time equivalent employees in Canada.
• Companies with international commercialization experience may be prioritized.
• Annual sales revenue exceeding CAD 500,000 is considered an asset.
• Technologies that have reached Technology Readiness Level 7 or higher are preferred.
