Accelerate Africa Startup Programme 2026

An accelerator for early-stage African founders preparing for global scale and investment.

Organizer: Future Africa
Deadline: July 25, 2026 (in a month)
Categories: Accelerator, Funding
Region: Africa

Accelerate Africa (A2), an initiative by Future Africa, supports early-stage African founders building global businesses that address Africa’s biggest challenges. The programme helps founders access the capital, customers, networks, and strategic channels needed to accelerate their growth. Its expansion was supported by a 2023 partnership with Prosper Africa, a U.S. Government initiative focused on increasing two-way trade and investment between the United States and African countries.

Program Mission and Structure

Goal: To build a highly curated community of African founders who support one another while developing the capabilities needed to build transformative businesses.

Core Pillars: The 12-week programme focuses on five areas: storytelling, People & Ops, Go-to-Market, product development, and fundraising.

Partner Network: The programme connects founders with experienced operators, advisors, investors, corporate partners, and entrepreneur-support organisations. Its 2023 launch announcement identified global accelerator networks including Y Combinator, 500 Startups, and Techstars among the ecosystem connections available to participating founders.

Key Offerings and Investment

Mentorship and Networking: Selected founders receive one-to-one coaching from experienced advisors, workshops across the programme’s core areas, and technology, legal, and finance office hours. Participants also build peer relationships with other founders and gain access to advisor networks that can support customer acquisition and growth.

Investor Access: The programme culminates in a demo day, designed to connect founders with investors from Africa and around the world.

Funding Opportunity: Accelerate Africa does not provide automatic funding or take equity upon admission. At the end of the programme, founders may receive an optional investment opportunity from the Accelerate Africa fund. Future Africa may also consider a pre-seed or seed investment of $250,000 to $500,000, subject to its standard due-diligence process and investment-committee approval.

Target Audience: The programme is designed for early-stage African startups building scalable, technology-enabled businesses that address meaningful challenges on the continent and have the potential for global growth.
