XREAL has announced that its upcoming XREAL AURA spatial computing glasses will start at US$1,279, with pre-orders now open exclusively for customers who previously placed paid reservations. The company revealed pricing and launch details on October 7, 2026, and said general public orders will open in the coming weeks. Built through a collaboration with Google and Qualcomm Technologies, the system pairs lightweight XR glasses with Android XR, Google Gemini, and Snapdragon Reality Elite.
Pricing and Configurations
The entry configuration includes 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for US$1,279, while a 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model is priced at US$1,499. Customers who reserved AURA with an initial deposit will receive an email with instructions on completing their purchase and selecting their configuration. New customers can still make a deposit at XREAL.com/aura to secure priority delivery before general availability opens.
Reservation and Pre-Order Process
Due to high demand and high reservations for AURA, only customers who reserved the device before October 7 are eligible to pre-order and complete their purchases starting today. Reservation holders can select AURA glasses in medium (60 to 66mm) or large (66 to 72mm) sizes alongside one of the two compute puck configurations. XREAL said this phased approach will help manage fulfillment and product readiness ahead of general availability.
A Collaborative Spatial Computing Platform
XREAL AURA was developed through a collaboration between XREAL, Google, and Qualcomm Technologies, and it combines XREAL optics with Android XR, Google Gemini, and Snapdragon Reality Elite. The split-compute architecture separates comfortable optical see-through glasses from a tethered compute puck that handles processing. This design allows the system to deliver immersive Android XR experiences while keeping the glasses lightweight.
Glasses and Compute Puck Design
The AURA glasses weigh less than 95 grams and offer a 70-degree field of view, precise hand tracking, and Sound by Bose. The tethered compute puck runs Android XR with Google Play for apps and also functions as a trackpad for navigation. It can be carried with a pocket clip or a lanyard clip, giving wearers a direct view of the real world while using spatial computing applications.
Executive Perspective
Chi Xu, co-founder and CEO of XREAL, said spatial computing is entering a new phase and that XREAL AURA is designed for this moment. He explained that the combination of lightweight optical see-through glasses with Android XR, Gemini, and Snapdragon-powered performance creates a more wearable, open, and connected computing experience. Xu added that movie lovers, gamers, sports fans, desktop workers, developers, and enterprises will be able to experience the device this year.
Global Availability
XREAL AURA will begin shipping soon in the United States, Canada, Japan, and South Korea, with additional markets planned for 2027. Regional pricing for the base model is set at 1,829 Canadian dollars, 229,800 Japanese yen, and 1,990,000 South Korean won. The phased rollout is designed to support product readiness, regional support, fulfillment, and ecosystem availability at launch.
With the launch now weeks away, XREAL plans to reveal additional details about AURA in the near future. The announcement positions XREAL to compete in the growing spatial computing market by combining its lightweight optics with Google's Android XR platform and Qualcomm's Snapdragon Reality Elite. Customers who want priority delivery can still place a deposit online before general availability begins.
