Vietnamese deep tech startup N2TP has successfully closed its seed funding round, led by the venture capital firm Touchstone Partners. The Hanoi-based company is developing artificial intelligence infrastructure to advance research in biomedicine and biotechnology. This investment highlights a growing ambition within Vietnam to cultivate companies focused on foundational science and original intellectual property.

Pioneering AI in Scientific Discovery

N2TP is moving beyond using AI for simple task acceleration and is instead integrating it directly into the scientific process. Its core product, the N2TP AI4Science Platform, assists researchers in generating hypotheses, running simulations, and designing experiments. The platform creates a continuous feedback loop between computational models and laboratory data to refine scientific inquiry.

The company was founded by a team with diverse expertise, including CEO Duong Thi Hong Nhung, a pharmaceutical biochemistry specialist. This blend of scientific and computational knowledge is central to its mission of solving complex research bottlenecks. N2TP's vision is not to replace scientists but to provide powerful infrastructure that enhances their discovery capabilities.

Early Success and Strategic Investment

The company's platform has already demonstrated significant results, accelerating research productivity by a reported fourfold. In the past year, N2TP has had 12 papers accepted at major global conferences and published three articles in prestigious Q1 journals. Furthermore, the startup has filed seven patent applications in Vietnam and internationally across its core focus areas.

The undisclosed seed funding from Touchstone Partners will be instrumental in N2TP's next phase of growth. The capital is earmarked for upgrading R&D infrastructure and expanding its portfolio of strategic patents. A key priority is to complete the research loop by integrating its AI platform with automated laboratory equipment.

Vietnam's Ambition in the Global Deep Tech Arena

N2TP enters a competitive global market with established players like Google DeepMind, but it aims to carve out a niche. By focusing on specific scientific workflows, the company can build valuable intellectual property while leveraging lower operational costs. This strategic approach allows it to innovate without directly challenging the industry's largest entities across the board.

This investment underscores a strategic shift in Vietnam's technology sector toward building foundational companies with defensible IP. Ngo Thuy Ngoc Tu, Director of Touchstone Partners, stated that N2TP proves Vietnamese researchers can create core technology meeting international standards. The firm believes AI infrastructure for science will be a critical component of the nation's future technological development.

N2TP's successful funding round represents a significant step for Vietnam's burgeoning deep tech ecosystem. The company's challenge now is to convert its impressive research output into tangible commercial products and partnerships. Its progress will serve as a crucial test of whether Vietnam can foster a new generation of startups built on original scientific innovation.
