VERO, a Dallas-based multifamily risk management and leasing decision platform, has secured a new round of capital from its existing investor group, led by growth equity firm Sun River Capital. The financing comes as the company expands the use of its technology across the U.S. rental housing market and works toward reaching profitability by the end of 2026. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.

Expanding Across the Multifamily Market

VERO said its platform now supports leasing decisions across 1,390 properties in 40 U.S. states, reflecting a significant expansion of its customer footprint. The company reported growth of 31,140% since 2021, although it did not provide the underlying revenue figures used to calculate that increase. The latest capital is intended to support further expansion while allowing the business to focus on operations rather than pursuing another external fundraising process in the near term.

Existing Investors Increase Their Commitment

The round was funded entirely by VERO's existing investors, with Sun River Capital leading the investment and increasing its exposure to the company. Copley Broer, Co-Managing Director at Sun River Capital, said the firm sees a substantial opportunity to develop risk and underwriting technology specifically for the multifamily housing sector. He added that Sun River typically seeks to increase its ownership in portfolio companies where it has particularly strong conviction about their growth prospects.

Building an Integrated Risk Platform

VERO provides property owners and operators with technology designed to evaluate prospective tenants, detect fraud, manage leasing risks, and accelerate rental decisions. Its platform combines identity and income verification, credit and criminal checks, document fraud detection, protection services, and AI-supported decision tools within a single workflow. The system also integrates with major property management platforms including Yardi, Entrata, RealPage, and Rent Manager, allowing customers to incorporate VERO's tools into their existing leasing operations.

Addressing Risk in Rental Applications

The company positions its technology as a way for multifamily operators to reduce losses while making the tenant screening process more efficient. Rising sophistication in identity and document fraud has increased the importance of verification technologies for landlords and property managers handling large volumes of rental applications. VERO's approach brings multiple screening and underwriting functions together, giving operators a centralized system for evaluating applicants and managing potential financial exposure.

Capital Supports Path Toward Profitability

Chief Executive Officer Jamey Rosamond said the decision by existing investors to provide additional capital represents strong support for the company's progress and strategy. According to VERO, the financing should give the business sufficient resources to continue expanding while maintaining its stated objective of achieving profitability before the end of 2026. The company did not disclose the size of the round, its resulting valuation, or whether the transaction changed the ownership stakes of participating investors.

VERO's latest financing strengthens its balance sheet as it continues scaling its multifamily risk and leasing technology across the United States. With existing investors supplying the entire round, the transaction also demonstrates continued backing from shareholders already familiar with the company's performance, strategy, and operating model. VERO will now focus on expanding adoption of its platform while pursuing profitability and building a broader position in the technology infrastructure supporting residential leasing.
