Utsav, a spiritual technology startup building a digital devotional network, has raised ₹36 crore (about $3.8 million) in Series A funding. Atomic Capital led the round while existing investors India Quotient and Equanimity Ventures doubled down on their commitments. The company plans to use the capital to strengthen product, technology, growth, and its team as it connects devotees, temples, and rituals across India and the diaspora.

Series A Funding and Investor Confidence

Atomic Capital led the ₹36 crore Series A round, with existing investors India Quotient and Equanimity Ventures doubling down. Apoorv Gautam, Partner at Atomic Capital, described the devotional economy as large, resilient, and still largely untouched by technology. He said Utsav's capital-efficient execution and repeat customer behaviour were decisive factors, while Rajesh Sehgal of Equanimity Investments praised the team's resilience and focus on fundamentals.

Rapid Growth and User Demand

Utsav has shown strong product market fit, with revenue growing eight times since its previous round of ₹6.35 crore in early 2025. The platform now fulfils 2.5 lakh orders per month, supported by recurring demand around Amavasya, Purnima, Ekadashi, Sankranti, Shravan, and Navratri. This repeat behaviour underpins healthy unit economics and signals a large underserved devotional market across geographies.

A Digital Bridge Between Devotees and Temples

The platform lets users book authentic pujas at revered temples and connect with verified priests, hear their name and gotra in the sankalp, watch the ritual live, and receive consecrated prasad at home. It brings pujas, priest consultations, prasad, and personalised rituals into one trusted experience. Utsav works with temple priests and acharyas to ensure every ritual is shaped and sanctioned by those who know the shastras best.

Founder Vision and Execution

Sourajit Basu, cofounder and CEO, said Utsav began with the belief that distance should never decide whether someone can offer a meaningful prayer. He noted that loyal devotees now book rituals every few days across multiple temples, and their messages after a puja are the real measure of what the company has built. Founders Sourajit Basu, Ankita De, and Prajata Samanta combine technology with a deep respect for faith, ritual, and trust.

Expansion Plans and Market Momentum

The fresh capital will be used to expand Utsav's temple network, deepen personalisation and discovery, and sharpen fulfilment and logistics. The funding will also support a stronger technology stack and expanded sacred offerings. The company plans to widen services for the Indian diaspora and scale its team over the next 12 to 24 months, while bringing lesser-known but highly energetic temples greater visibility.

Market Context and Broader Investor Interest

The spiritual technology segment is attracting considerable investor interest across India. AstroTalk recently became the first unicorn in the space after an employee stock ownership plan buyback valued it at one billion dollars. AppsForBharat and VAMA have also raised significant funding, reflecting broader investor appetite for digital devotional and spiritual services.

Utsav aims to become the infrastructure of devotion by simplifying the journey around a ritual while preserving its sanctity. Its goal is a future where a devotee in Kolkata, Coimbatore, or California can be equally present at the temple they hold dearest. With this Series A round, the company is positioned to bring more temples, worshippers, and sacred experiences into a single digital devotional network.
