Leadership Succession
Sajal Srivastava, co-founder and co-chief executive officer of TriplePoint Capital, will leave the company at the close of business on December 31, 2026. Jim Labe, his co-founder and co-CEO, will assume the role of sole chief executive officer at year's end. Srivastava has spent 23 years building the firm into an industry leading venture lending platform.
Board and Fund Roles
As part of the transition, Srivastava will also step down as president and chief investment officer of TriplePoint Venture Growth BDC Corp. and TriplePoint Private Venture Credit Inc. He will continue serving as a director on the boards of both vehicles until December 31, 2026. The move aligns executive responsibilities at the parent company and its affiliated funds.
New Chief Investment Officer
Ian Schworer has been appointed to serve as chief investment officer of TriplePoint Capital and the affiliated funds, effective at the close of business on December 31, 2026. He brings a 20-year career in venture lending, investment banking, management consulting, and engineering. Schworer has worked at TriplePoint in various investment roles since March 2014 and most recently held the position of chief credit officer.
Professional Background

He also served in consulting roles with Booz Allen Hamilton and held engineering positions at Lockheed Martin and Intel. Schworer earned an M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and advanced degrees in computer and electrical engineering from Virginia Tech.
Platform Track Record
For more than two decades, TriplePoint Capital has supported category-defining entrepreneurs and companies while navigating multiple market cycles. Since its launch in 2006, the platform has provided more than $15 billion in commitments to over 1,000 venture capital-backed companies globally. Labe noted that the firm has built an industry leading and differentiated venture lending platform backed by committed capital and a strong team.
Recent Market Activity
In the first half of 2026, TriplePoint closed more than 50 debt financing and equity investment transactions. These financings ranged from $10 million to $150 million and involved companies in artificial intelligence infrastructure, enterprise software, defense technology, deep tech, and healthcare. Labe said Schworer has helped manage the multi-billion dollar portfolio across these high growth sectors.
Executive Perspectives
Labe thanked Srivastava for his significant contributions over the past 23 years and expressed excitement about the future. He said he looks forward to continuing to work with Schworer in the expanded role. Srivastava said he is deeply proud of what the founders accomplished and is excited to begin a new chapter while continuing to support innovation in the venture capital ecosystem.
The planned leadership transition at TriplePoint Capital is designed to preserve continuity while introducing refreshed investment leadership from within the firm. By appointing an experienced internal executive to the chief investment officer role, the company aims to maintain its established strategy and relationships in the venture lending market. TriplePoint enters the next phase with an active pipeline and a continued focus on high growth technology sectors.
