Copenhagen- and Berlin-based startup TODAY has raised €2.8 million in Seed funding to expand its AI sales operating system for financial and insurance advisors. The round was co-led by High-Tech Gründerfonds and Insurtech Gateway, with participation from SeedX, Lucid Capital, former HDI CEO Herbert Rogenhofer, and Tech11 founder Pierre Dubosq. The new financing follows a €1 million Pre-Seed round announced more than a year earlier.

Investor Confidence and Strategic Backing

The Seed round reflects investor confidence in TODAY's vertical AI approach for financial services and insurance distribution. High-Tech Gründerfonds and Insurtech Gateway co-led the investment, while SeedX and Lucid Capital joined as institutional backers. Angel investors Herbert Rogenhofer, the former HDI CEO, and Pierre Dubosq, founder of Tech11, also participated in the financing.

A Vertical AI Sales Operating System

TODAY has built a complete AI Sales Operating System that supports advisors before, during, and after client meetings. The platform transcribes conversations in real time, anonymizes data without storing audio, and generates IDD-compliant documentation from the advisor's own templates. A live assist capability also surfaces objection-handling responses and next-best-action prompts during calls.

Training and Conversation Intelligence

Advisors can use the AskTODAY chat interface to query their entire conversation history for relevant client information. The platform includes a simulation environment where advisors practice voice conversations with configurable AI customers across DISC personality profiles. These simulated training sessions can earn IDD continuing education credits, helping advisors develop stronger client engagement skills.

Compliance and Data Privacy

The platform is designed to meet the compliance demands of financial and insurance advisory work across regulated markets. Meeting transcriptions are anonymized in real time, and no audio is stored, which helps protect client privacy. Documentation is generated according to IDD standards and the advisor's own templates to reduce regulatory risk.

Founder Expertise and Market Timing

TODAY was founded in 2024 by Michael Gackstatter and Artem Demchenkov, who bring complementary experience from scaling European fintech and insurtech companies. Gackstatter previously served as a founding team member and CPO at CLARK, while Demchenkov was CTO at Billie. The founders are responding to rising pressure from pension reforms, market consolidation, and stricter regulatory compliance requirements.

Responding to Structural Market Pressure

The funding arrives as advisors face growing pressure from pension reforms, accelerated market consolidation, and tighter regulatory compliance requirements. These forces push advisory teams to serve more clients with the same or fewer resources. TODAY aims to remove friction by deploying compliant AI agents that take administrative work off advisors' desks and automate routine tasks.

Adoption and Measurable Results

Since launch, more than 3,500 advisors across large insurers, distributors, and independent brokers in the DACH region have adopted TODAY. Users save an average of five hours per week on administrative work and see revenue gains of up to 10%. The company also reports that advisors capture approximately 50 times more insights from each client conversation.

Investor Perspectives

HTGF Senior Investment Manager Tizian Hoppen said the founders combine rare experience in scaling financial services businesses with an exceptional ability to execute. Robert Lumley, Co-Founder at Insurtech Gateway, highlighted how closely the team works with advisors to solve real operational challenges. SeedX Partner Mathias Jaeggi added that the next wave of AI in insurance will embed intelligence into the daily workflow of every advisor.

The Seed capital will accelerate the development and commercial rollout of TODAY's agentic AI platform across the entire front and back office in the DACH region. The company aims to give advisors more time for clients by automating administrative tasks and routine back-office work. Michael Gackstatter, co-founder and CEO, said, "While AI reshuffles financial advice, we scale the human touch."
