Thawani Technologies LLC, a payment service provider licensed by the Central Bank of Oman, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Monak to support digital and financial technology solutions in Oman. The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration between the two companies, covering initiatives across both the public and private sectors. The partnership focuses on integrating regulated payment infrastructure with digital platforms.


Driving Seamless Digital Payments

Under the MoU, Thawani and Monak will explore embedding secure and locally compliant payment capabilities into digital platforms. The collaboration aims to improve service delivery, streamline reconciliation and reporting processes, and enable faster deployment through scalable integration models. By combining Thawani’s licensed payments infrastructure with Monak’s digital platform capabilities, the partnership seeks to simplify onboarding processes and enhance services for organizations, employers, and end users.

Executive Perspectives on the Collaboration

Eng. Majid Al Amri, Founder and CEO of Thawani, stated that the partnership focuses on transforming digital journeys into fully executable services that are secure, transparent, and scalable. He highlighted that embedding payment services directly into commonly used platforms can improve operational efficiency, enhance user experience, and support governance requirements.

Said Salim Al Shanfari, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Monak, noted that effective digital transformation depends on partnerships built on trust and execution. He explained that the collaboration aims to reduce friction in essential services and deliver solutions that are scalable and resilient. Both executives emphasized their shared focus on supporting digital services in Oman while ensuring alignment with local requirements.
