TensorX has launched with an €8 million investment to establish a sovereign AI inference platform tailored for European enterprises. Founded by Shane Morton, the company addresses critical data sovereignty needs for regulated sectors like finance and healthcare. This strategic initiative provides high-performance AI computing while ensuring data remains within European jurisdiction, a growing concern for businesses across the continent.

Addressing European Data Sovereignty

European companies face significant challenges in adopting AI due to stringent regulations like GDPR and the upcoming EU AI Act. The US CLOUD Act further complicates matters, allowing US authorities to access data held by American cloud giants. This creates a pressing need for AI infrastructure that guarantees data remains under European legal control and safe from foreign jurisdiction.

TensorX offers a direct solution by running open-source models on dedicated Nvidia GPUs with a strict zero data retention policy. Operating from data centers in Dublin and Helsinki, the platform ensures no client information is stored, logged, or reused. This gives enterprises complete control over their sensitive data and its usage, ensuring full compliance with regional laws.

Strategic Investment and Expansion

Founder Shane Morton has personally committed €8 million to fuel the company's growth and hardware acquisition. Leveraging his experience from ICT Services, a leading data centre infrastructure firm, he has secured sought-after Nvidia chips. This investment underscores a strong commitment to building a robust, sovereign AI infrastructure from the ground up to meet escalating demand.

The company is already operational and generating revenue, supported by partnerships with the NVIDIA Inception program and Dell. TensorX is actively planning a significant European expansion, with new GPU capacity slated for Ireland, the UK, Germany, France, and the Nordics. This expansion is driven by strong organic demand from companies preparing for stricter AI regulations.

Meeting a Growing Market Demand

TensorX serves a diverse client base, from large regulated enterprises to innovative SMEs like APEX:E3, which uses the platform for its AI coding assistant. Usman Khan, founder of APEX:E3, praised TensorX as the only platform trusted with their most sensitive institutional financial data. This highlights the platform's immediate impact and reliability in critical applications across various sectors.

The market for sovereign AI is rapidly accelerating, with industry reports validating TensorX's strategic focus. Accenture notes that 62% of European organizations are now seeking sovereign solutions, while Gartner predicts a major shift to local providers. This trend is supported by IDC projections of European AI spending reaching $144.6 billion by 2028, signaling a massive market opportunity.

With its substantial €8 million investment and a clear focus on data sovereignty, TensorX is strategically positioned to lead Europe's secure AI adoption. The company's zero-retention policy and dedicated infrastructure directly meet the compliance demands of regulated industries. As the continent's need for trusted AI solutions grows, TensorX is poised to become a foundational pillar for European innovation.
