The Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC) and TCab Tech have signed an MoU to explore commercialization pathways for the E20 eVTOL aircraft in Malaysia. The agreement was exchanged on October 9, 2026, during the opening of the Malaysian Engineers, Global Impact showcase at IOI City Mall in Putrajaya. The event marked the first public display of the five-seat tilt-rotor eVTOL in the country and TCab Tech's formal entry into the Malaysian market.

Commercialization Partnership

Under the MoU, TCab Tech will contribute its expertise in eVTOL research, development, and manufacturing, while SIDEC will use its local ecosystem and industry networks to support engagement with government agencies, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia, and industry stakeholders. The collaboration is designed to advance both the certification pathway and future commercialization of the E20 in Malaysia. It also supports the growth of the country's Low Altitude Economy ecosystem through coordinated regulatory and industrial preparation.

Regional Base and Market Applications

As part of its Southeast Asia strategy, TCab Tech will establish a regional business center in Selangor to support commercial development, local partnerships, and wider regional expansion. The company will explore potential E20 applications across tourism, intercity travel, and intracity travel, including links between transport hubs and tourist destinations and point-to-point trips between nearby cities. Founder and CEO Ng Yon Wui noted that Malaysia's aerospace manufacturing, MRO, engineering services, and aviation talent provide a strong foundation for emerging aviation technologies.

Advisory Role and Industry Engagement

In addition to the MoU, Ng Yon Wui has been appointed Industry Advisor to SIDEC. In this role, he will provide strategic industry perspectives on developing high-technology sectors in Selangor, particularly aerospace, advanced air mobility, and autonomous technologies. His appointment broadens the cooperation beyond E20 commercialization and creates new opportunities for industry exchange and ecosystem development in advanced technology sectors.

Leadership Perspectives

SIDEC CEO Yong Kai Ping said the organization is committed to ensuring Selangor keeps pace with technologies that will shape how people live and work. He added that SIDEC will help connect TCab Tech with the right partners and stakeholders as it explores its path in Malaysia. Ng Yon Wui separately emphasized that the Low Altitude Economy requires certification, regulation, infrastructure, industrial capability, and real use cases to come together.

Certification and Regulatory Momentum

The E20 is progressing through Type Certification with the Civil Aviation Administration of China, having completed its Certification Basis, Means of Compliance, and Certification Plan. TCab Tech is preparing for overseas market entry following a civil aviation safety cooperation MoU signed between Malaysia and China on September 21, 2026. Malaysia is advancing its regulatory framework through an Advanced Air Mobility Technical Working Group, a Concept of Operations, and a national roadmap.

Public Showcase

The Malaysian Engineers, Global Impact showcase runs from October 9 to November 9, 2026, at Symphony East 3, IOI City Mall in Putrajaya. Entry is free and open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The month-long event features the first public display in Malaysia of TCab Tech's independently developed five-seat tilt-rotor E20 eVTOL.

The partnership between SIDEC and TCab Tech represents a concrete step toward developing Malaysia's Low Altitude Economy and advanced air mobility ecosystem. With a regional business center planned for Selangor, the collaboration is positioned to attract aviation technology investment, support local talent development, and strengthen regulatory readiness. TCab Tech aims to build a long-term presence in Malaysia and extend its eVTOL commercialization and industry partnerships across Southeast Asia.
