TailBlaze Longevity, an Ahmedabad-based pet nutrition startup, has raised US$300,000 in a Pre-Seed funding round led by US-based venture capital firm Comma Capital. The company is preparing to introduce HeartPour, a wet dog food product developed over four years of research and development. The startup was also featured on Bharat Ke Superfounders, where its founders presented their focus on canine longevity, nutrition, and wellness for Indian pet parents.

Founding Team and Vision

TailBlaze Longevity was founded by Manaal Maniyar and Palak Devpura, who have positioned the company around canine longevity and nutrition. The startup aims to extend dogs' lives by three to five years through high-protein and lower-carbohydrate nutritional formulations. Its product development work is rooted in several years of research and experimentation around canine nutrition, functional ingredients, and fresh meal formats.

Funding Allocation and Launch Plans

TailBlaze Longevity will use the fresh capital to support the launch of HeartPour, build a team in Ahmedabad, and expand its reach among pet parents across India. Before the wider rollout, the startup plans to offer the first 500 dogs a free serving of HeartPour. It is also hiring across marketing, operations, and other functions as it builds its Ahmedabad-based team, while early customer engagement will be managed through WhatsApp.

HeartPour Formulation

HeartPour is a ready-to-serve wet dog food designed to be fed on its own or poured over home-cooked meals and kibble. The product combines high protein and superfoods with an Ayurvedic PanchTatva blend comprising curcumin, black pepper, parsley, amla, and tulsi. It also contains functional ingredients such as glucosamine, chondroitin, omega 3-6-9, prebiotics, and postbiotics, supporting joint, gut, skin, and coat health.

FreshTail Technology and Product Portfolio

TailBlaze has developed FreshTail, a proprietary technology for manufacturing shelf-stable fresh meals. The company describes HeartPour as a fresh wet food that is slow retort-cooked and does not require refrigeration before opening, with FreshTail providing up to 15 months of freshness. Its broader portfolio includes more than 200 products across organic dog food, natural treats such as coconut and hemp or fish and strawberry, grooming essentials, and accessories.

Commercial Model and Longevity Positioning

TailBlaze Longevity follows a WhatsApp-first commerce model and also sells through quick commerce and online platforms such as Blinkit and BBNow. The startup's longevity positioning is based on the idea that improved nutrition can contribute to better long-term health for dogs, and it has stated an ambition of adding three to five years to dogs' lives. This claim should be treated as the company's stated goal rather than an established clinical outcome.

Pet Nutrition Sector Momentum

The funding arrives amid growing investor interest in India's pet nutrition segment. Right4Paws raised ₹140 million in Series A funding in December last year to expand manufacturing, research and development, specialized talent, and functional products. Benny's Bowl raised US$1.4 million in February this year, while Zoomies raised ₹50 million in Pre-Seed funding in March, reflecting broader activity in clean-label and functional pet food.

With its Pre-Seed funding, TailBlaze Longevity is moving from research and early product development toward a broader commercial launch. The company is focusing on direct customer feedback, quick commerce distribution, and a longevity-focused nutrition proposition for Indian pet parents. Its progress will depend on product adoption, operational execution, and the ability to differentiate HeartPour in an increasingly competitive pet wellness market.
