syte, a German platform for land and property analysis founded in 2021, has closed a Series A funding round of 9 million euros. The round is led by amberra, the venturing studio of the Genossenschaftliche FinanzGruppe Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken, and includes NRW.BANK as a new investor. Existing investors such as the Schwarz Group companies, High-Tech Gründerfonds, vent.io and Vantage Value also participated in the financing.

Funding and strategic investors

The new capital will be used to support syte's European expansion and the further development of its technology. The company focuses on automating the early planning phase of real estate projects, covering building potential, legal requirements and economic viability. syte aims to digitalize the entire process before actual construction begins.

Technology and market position

syte combines property and land data with its own AI to help project developers, banks and brokers assess what can be built on a plot, which legal rules apply and whether a project is financially viable. The platform reduces review processes that can take weeks in practice to a matter of minutes. It is available across Germany and maps more than 62 million plots, serving over 200 customers.

Market context and efficiency gains

The real estate industry is currently navigating a difficult period marked by high construction and financing costs that are difficult to influence. syte addresses this bottleneck by enabling faster, data-based preliminary checks that help identify suitable projects earlier and avoid planning mistakes. By shortening multi-week review processes, the platform gives users more reliable decision-making foundations before they commit time and capital to a project.

Investor and leadership perspectives

Matthias Zühlke, CEO of syte, said that conventional methods of checking and valuing plots and existing properties cost the real estate and finance industry significant time and money. He explained that the new funding will help the company automate planning phases further and expand beyond the German market into Europe. He also noted that amberra provides both an understanding of reliable data in real estate and access to a network of hundreds of cooperative banks.

Investor statements on strategic value

Björn Schmuck, managing director of amberra, emphasized the strategic importance of the real estate business for the cooperative financial group. He said syte makes the potential of plots and buildings visible at an early stage using AI and enables banks to provide faster data-based advice. He added that several cooperative banks already use the platform in property sales and customer advisory, demonstrating its practical value.

Regional innovation and market recognition

Johanna Antonie Tjaden-Schulte, member of the board of NRW.BANK, said syte demonstrates how artificial intelligence can change established industries and make processes more efficient. She added that such applications advance digital transformation in North Rhine-Westphalia and that the bank supports syte in developing and bringing this technology to market. syte's annual recurring revenue doubled compared with the previous year, and in 2025 the company received the PropTech of the Year Award for its innovation.

With this funding, syte strengthens its position as a provider of data-driven analysis for the real estate sector at a time when the industry faces high construction and financing costs. The company's platform helps identify suitable projects earlier and avoid planning errors, creating a clearer basis for investment decisions. The successful round signals investor confidence in technology that can meaningfully influence and reshape the property market.
