SuperPlane, a new venture from the founders of Semaphore, has secured $2.6 million in pre-seed funding to address a critical bottleneck in software development. The company's platform is designed to manage the surge in code generated by AI tools, which has outpaced the capacity of traditional deployment pipelines. This funding, led by Credo Ventures, will support the launch of its agentic orchestration platform for DevOps teams.

Addressing the AI-Generated Code Challenge

The widespread adoption of AI coding assistants has dramatically increased the speed of software creation, introducing a new operational challenge. Development teams are now shipping code at a rate that legacy deployment systems were never designed to handle. This flood of changes strains DevOps teams who rely on manual processes and fragile scripts to manage critical infrastructure safely.

A New Control Plane for Operations

SuperPlane introduces an open-source, AI-first control plane to bridge the gap between development and operations. The platform enables engineers and AI agents to collaborate securely on infrastructure tasks within a deterministic environment. It provides essential guardrails, policy enforcement, and a complete audit trail to ensure changes are managed safely and efficiently.

The system functions by translating plain-language descriptions into runnable workflows, streamlining complex operational processes. With over 400 integrations for tools like AWS, GitHub, and OpenAI, it supports diverse tech stacks for scalable automation. An open-source version is available now under an Apache 2.0 license, and a hosted cloud version is currently open in beta.

Vision for the Automated Operations Center

The company's long-term vision is to create an "Automated Operations Center," fundamentally changing how engineering teams manage production systems. SuperPlane aims to structure and codify the operational knowledge that typically resides with a few senior engineers. This makes critical expertise auditable, scalable, and executable by any authorized team member, much like GitHub did for code collaboration.

This new paradigm envisions a future where on-call engineers supervise automated systems rather than manually resolving incidents. AI agents become active participants in production workflows, operating within a safe and controlled policy framework provided by the platform. SuperPlane positions itself as the essential operating system for AI agents interacting with critical company infrastructure.

Experienced Founders Attract Investment

The founding team, Darko Fabijan and Marko Anastasov, bring nearly two decades of experience from their previous company, Semaphore. Their success in building a trusted CI/CD platform used by companies like Confluent and Replit established a strong reputation for technical excellence. This proven track record was a key factor in securing investor confidence for their new venture.

The $2.6 million pre-seed round was led by Credo Ventures and saw participation from First Momentum. Notable angel investors include Stanislas Polu of Dust and Mirko Novakovic of Dash0, reflecting strong belief in the founders' ability to execute. Confluent is serving as a lead design partner, highlighting early industry validation for SuperPlane's approach to modern DevOps challenges.

SuperPlane enters the market at a pivotal moment, as the operational side of software development struggles to keep pace with AI-driven coding. The company's platform offers a vendor-neutral solution designed to bring order and safety to the rapidly accelerating deployment landscape. With a seasoned founding team and fresh capital, SuperPlane is positioned to address this growing need and help define the future of platform engineering.
