Sunfox Technologies, a Dehradun-based healthtech company specializing in portable cardiac diagnostics, has raised US$7 million, equivalent to approximately ₹67 crore, in a Series A funding round. The investment was co-led by Ashish Kacholia, Lashit Sanghvi, Alchemy Capital and 3one4 Capital. This latest infusion positions the company to accelerate its next phase of growth across India and international markets.

Series A Investment and Investor Backing

The Series A follows a ₹15 crore Pre-Series A round in August 2024, which was led by Venture Catalysts and included Finvolve through the IA Growth Opportunities Fund I and Brew Opportunities Fund, Universal Group, RP Singhvi Group and others. Sunfox also attracted investments from all five Sharks in the first season of Shark Tank India. The continued support from institutional and individual investors reflects confidence in the company's mission to improve access to cardiac assessment.

Capital Deployment Priorities

Sunfox will use the fresh capital to deepen its presence across India and build global go-to-market capabilities. The company is also directing resources toward scaling the organization and advancing its research and development efforts. Priority international markets include the United States, Europe and Africa, where Sunfox intends to strengthen regulatory, distribution and commercial operations.

Origins and Product Portfolio

Founded in 2016 by Rajat Jain, Arpit Jain, Saurabh Badola, Nitin Chandola and Sabit Rawat, Sunfox Technologies began after the loss of a friend in college prompted the founders to explore ways to reduce delays in cardiac care. The company has developed a portfolio of Spandan ECG solutions for personal, clinical and institutional use. Its flagship Spandan series is a portable, medical-grade ECG platform used in hospitals, clinics, telemedicine networks and home-based monitoring.

Scale and Regulatory Milestones

Around 60,000 Spandan devices have been deployed across India, reaching more than 20,000 villages across states and union territories. The Spandan One platform supports remote ECG reviews, case coordination and tele-ECG network management, screening approximately 5 million patients annually. Sunfox has expanded to more than 15 countries and has secured regulatory approvals in India, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa, while pursuing clearances in the United States and European Union.

Public Health Applications

Sunfox's technology can be deployed through a hub-and-spoke model in public health systems, helping frontline health workers capture ECGs and share them for remote interpretation. The Spandan platform flags critical patterns and supports escalation for further treatment, reducing waiting and travel time for patients. Its devices have reached healthcare providers across more than 1,800 PIN codes in India, extending cardiac assessment into underserved areas.

Leadership Perspective

Rajat Jain, Founder and CEO of Sunfox Technologies, said, "This round gives us the resources to take what we have built in Dehradun to a much larger stage. We will invest deeply in R&D while expanding across India and building the capabilities required to take Sunfox and Spandan to global markets." His remarks highlight the company's ambition to broaden its diagnostic footprint beyond established markets.

Sunfox operates in a competitive cardiac monitoring and diagnostics landscape that includes players such as AliveCor and Tricog, while companies like Monitra Health and Molbio Diagnostics are expanding portable point of care diagnostics. The growing demand for decentralized diagnostic tools is creating opportunities for portable platforms like Spandan in both emerging and developed markets. With fresh capital and a widening regulatory footprint, Sunfox aims to strengthen its position in India and accelerate entry into global markets.
