AssetGro Fintech Ltd, the parent company of StockGro, has pre-filed its draft red herring prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Board of India under the confidential route. The filing was submitted on September 26 to the regulator, BSE, and NSE for a proposed mainboard initial public offering. Market sources indicate the IPO could target ₹20,000 million to ₹25,000 million, including a fresh issue of about ₹8,000 million and an offer for sale by existing shareholders.

Confidential Filing Route and Proposed Structure

Under the confidential pre-filing route, companies can keep draft offer documents out of the public domain until the regulatory review process reaches an advanced stage. Consequently, details regarding the offer structure, financial performance, valuation, and listing timeline are not available at this time. The company stated in a public notice that the pre-filed document relates to a proposed initial public offering of equity shares on the mainboard of the stock exchanges.

StockGro's Platform and Market Focus

StockGro operates a fintech platform focused on stock-market research, investing, and trading for retail participants across India. The app combines market research with a social layer, allowing users to track stocks, study portfolios, follow other investors, and interact with market experts. It also offers research and trade ideas from SEBI-registered analysts, along with tools that support deeper analysis, strategy building, and portfolio tracking.

AI-Powered Tools for Investors

StockGro recently introduced Stoxo, an AI-powered research assistant designed to help users analyze stocks, markets, mutual funds, and other investment themes. The tool extends the platform's research capabilities by providing more accessible, technology-driven insights to retail users at scale. Its launch aligns with the company's broader strategy to deepen investor engagement, support informed decisions, and broaden the platform's appeal to first-time market participants.

Funding History and Investor Backing

In December last year, StockGro raised ₹1,500 million from Param Capital founder Mukul Agrawal in a Series B round and added US$13 million from existing investor BITKRAFT Ventures in a Series B1 round. As of 2026, the startup claims total equity funding of approximately US$110 million. Its backers include Roots Ventures, General Catalyst, and Nazara cofounder Nitish Mittersain, among other notable investors.

Company Profile and User Base

StockGro is operated by Bengaluru-based AssetGro Fintech Ltd and has built a sizable retail user community across the country. As of 2026, the startup claims to serve more than 45 million users, supported by tools for stock analysis, strategy building, and portfolio tracking. The platform positions itself as a social investing destination that blends market education, research, community engagement, and accessible investor insights.

A Growing Pipeline of Confidential IPO Filings

StockGro adds to a growing list of startups using the confidential route to enter public markets. Spinny pre-filed its IPO papers earlier this month, while companies such as Kuku, Razorpay, and MakeMyTrip also filed confidential draft red herring prospectuses in 2026. Snapdeal parent AceVector, which used the same route last year, completed its initial public offering today, reflecting a busy primary market and rising investor appetite.

The proposed StockGro IPO underscores the company's ambition to access public capital and strengthen its position in India's retail investment ecosystem. The final issue size and structure could still change during the regulatory review process. If completed, the listing would add another Indian fintech platform to an increasingly active public market pipeline and reinforce broader startup IPO momentum.
