stc pay Bahrain has announced a strategic partnership with Diebold Nixdorf at Fintech Forward 2026 in Bahrain. The collaboration introduces the stc pay Kiosk network, the mobile wallet provider's first physical self-service channel. The initiative is designed to extend digital financial services to residents across the Kingdom of Bahrain, including those who rely primarily on cash.
A Physical Gateway for Digital Services
The kiosk network will be deployed gradually in high footfall locations and community hubs across the country. It will allow users to access stc pay services through cash and mobile number SMS verification. This approach removes the need for a smartphone or a pre-installed application, broadening access to bank grade digital services.
Customers will be able to perform wallet top ups, cash collections, domestic and cross border remittances, utility bill payments, and prepaid or postpaid recharges. The kiosks will also support digital card management and other everyday financial tasks. By placing these machines in accessible locations, stc pay aims to provide greater choice and flexibility in how customers use its services.
Technology-Driven Self-Service
Diebold Nixdorf is supplying its DN Series self-service technology powered by the DN Vynamic software suite. Some units will feature Interactive Teller Machine kits, enabling more advanced assisted transactions. The cloud native and API driven Vynamic Transaction Middleware will connect physical touchpoints with stc pay Bahrain's payment infrastructure.
Vynamic Terminal Driving will support contactless payments, mobile wallets, and real time account access. The DN Series devices are also powered by the DN AllConnect Data Engine, which uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to maximize fleet performance and availability. Vynamic View software provides 24/7 monitoring and management for the entire kiosk network.
Executive Perspectives and Local Impact
Metin Zavrak, CEO of stc pay Bahrain, said the expansion beyond the mobile app is a strategic step toward making financial services more accessible to the wider community. He noted that physical kiosks give customers greater choice and flexibility while extending the company's reach across Bahrain. Zavrak added that the partnership supports secure, reliable, and convenient experiences aligned with the company's commitment to financial inclusion.
Habib Hanna, Managing Director for the Middle East at Diebold Nixdorf, described the engagement as an example of how a digital first fintech can establish a physical presence and reach more consumers. He explained that the DN Series is evolving beyond the traditional ATM into a connected transaction point. This partnership marks Diebold Nixdorf's first major engagement with a telecommunications affiliated financial services provider in the Middle East.
Local deployment and technical support for the kiosk fleet are being executed in collaboration with Almoayed Group WLL, Diebold Nixdorf's licensed partner in Bahrain. This multi-channel expansion positions stc pay as an inclusive and omnichannel payments network. It also supports the Central Bank of Bahrain's vision for a modern, cashless enabled economy.
The partnership between stc pay Bahrain and Diebold Nixdorf represents a significant step in merging digital financial services with physical accessibility. By combining self-service hardware, cloud native software, and local expertise, the two companies are creating a scalable platform for future services. The kiosk network is expected to strengthen financial inclusion across Bahrain while advancing the country's cashless economy ambitions.
