ORA Technologies began in Casablanca in 2023 with a clear, community-driven mission: to make digital inclusion a reality for all Moroccans. In a landscape where access to digital tools and financial services remains uneven, ORA set out to close the gap with practical, affordable solutions tailored to local needs. Today, the company operates across the fintech and foodtech sectors, offering a dual platform approach—Kooul for food delivery and ORA Cash for mobile payments. Backed by over $11.9 million in funding, ORA Technologies is reshaping digital access through two intuitive, homegrown services designed to simplify everyday life.

Dual Platforms for Everyday Needs

Founded by Omar Alami, a former executive at BNP Paribas, HSBC, and Evooq with two decades of global finance experience, ORA Technologies began by identifying two essential daily pain points for Moroccans: paying and eating. Kooul, its food delivery service, partners with both large restaurant chains and local eateries to offer a diverse menu of Moroccan and international cuisines. The platform serves as a local alternative to foreign delivery apps, focusing on convenience, cultural relevance, and freshness.

Simplifying Payments with ORA Cash

ORA Cash, launched in parallel, addresses another fundamental need: fast, simple, and secure money transfers. With just 2 Dh/month, users can send unlimited, instant payments to anyone in their phone contacts who has an ORA Cash account—no fees, no app-switching, and no delays. The app emphasizes robust security and wide accessibility through over 5,000 partner agencies across the country.

Fueling Growth Through Local Investment

In July 2025, ORA Technologies closed Morocco’s largest locally-led Series A round, raising $7.5 million to scale Kooul’s logistics network and accelerate ORA Cash adoption. This brought total funding to over $10 million across several rounds, with key backing from Azur Innovation Fund and Witamax. A $1.9 million pre-Series A, also led by Azur and Witamax, supported Kooul’s expansion into six cities and further development of ORA Cash.

This consistent capital support has enabled ORA Technologies to scale responsibly while maintaining affordability and user focus—key to its inclusive tech strategy.

Leadership Rooted in Global Expertise

At the helm of ORA Technologies is founder and CEO Omar Alami, whose career spans leadership roles in major financial institutions and a deep commitment to digital transformation. Having built and led cross-border teams in Europe and beyond, Alami brings a blend of global insight and local purpose to ORA’s strategy.

As ORA Technologies grows, it remains focused on solutions that are not only technologically sound but culturally relevant and accessible. With Kooul redefining food delivery and ORA Cash simplifying digital payments, the company offers a Moroccan-built model for inclusive innovation. In a market often shaped by imported platforms, ORA stands out as a homegrown player committed to empowering Moroccans through technology designed with their needs in mind.
