Zero-added-sugar beverage brand Sorry Sugar has appointed Palash Arneja as its Founder and Chief Executive Officer, signaling a new phase of expansion for the company. The appointment follows a recent capital infusion that is expected to support product development, distribution, and overall market growth. Arneja, who previously incubated the brand with Wolfpack Labs, will now lead product, distribution, and business growth strategy as the company moves into new categories.

Leadership Appointment

Arneja has taken on the top leadership role at Sorry Sugar after working with the brand during its incubation at Wolfpack Labs. In his new position, he will oversee product innovation, consumer strategy, and overall business expansion, with a focus on scaling the company's presence. The company said his appointment is part of a broader effort to strengthen its leadership as it moves beyond its initial product category.

Before joining Sorry Sugar, Arneja built the consumer brand BLA BLI BLU. The company said that brand scaled to ₹10 billion in under a year, reflecting his ability to grow consumer businesses rapidly and at scale. Sorry Sugar noted that Arneja brings strong expertise in building and scaling consumer brands, which will be central to its ambitions in the better-for-you consumer segment over time.

Funding and Investor Backing

Last month, Sorry Sugar raised US$1 million in a Seed funding round. The round was led by the Dhanuka family and Amishi London, bringing additional resources for the company's next phase of growth and market expansion. The capital is expected to support expansion plans, product development, and distribution efforts across India, and the leadership appointment was announced shortly after the round closed.

Product Portfolio and Market Positioning

Sorry Sugar currently operates in the flavored coffee segment with a focus on zero-added-sugar formulations. Its products contain prebiotic fiber and use monk fruit as a sweetener, offering what the company describes as a healthier alternative to conventional coffee beverages. The brand positions itself around mindful indulgence for Gen Z consumers and plans to move beyond coffee into other everyday consumption categories.

The company's broader product strategy is centered on reducing added sugar across daily consumption. By combining monk fruit with prebiotic fiber, Sorry Sugar aims to offer beverages that balance taste with functional benefits for health-conscious consumers. Its focus on everyday categories suggests the brand intends to build a wider portfolio beyond its existing flavored coffee range over time.

Growth and Distribution Strategy

The company plans to strengthen its presence across both online and offline retail channels as part of its next growth phase. Arneja will lead market expansion and the broader business strategy, with a focus on making zero-added-sugar products more accessible across India. The distribution push is expected to accompany a wider product portfolio beyond the existing flavored coffee offering.

With new leadership in place and fresh Seed funding secured, Sorry Sugar is preparing to widen its footprint in India's better-for-you consumer market. The brand's monk fruit sweetening and prebiotic fiber formulations target health-conscious younger consumers seeking indulgence with reduced sugar. Its planned move into additional everyday consumption categories could help it establish a stronger position beyond flavored coffee in the Indian market.
