The Nagoya-based frontier technology company announced a $2.5 million second close of its late seed round, reinforcing investor confidence in its data-driven approach to public health and environmental monitoring. The latest raise brings the company’s total funding to approximately $7.3 million, following an earlier late seed round completed in March 2025.

The second close adds JPY 400 million to SORA Technology’s balance sheet, extending a funding round that initially raised $4.8 million earlier in the year. The capital comes at a time when health systems across Africa continue to face pressure from infectious diseases and climate-related disruptions. Investors appear to be backing the company’s ability to combine advanced hardware and artificial intelligence with real-world deployment.
New and Existing Backers
Alongside existing shareholders, the round introduced three new institutional investors to SORA Technology’s cap table. These include Daiwa House Group Investment Limited Partnership, Central Japan Innovative Research Fund I, and UNERI Capital Fund Series I, each supporting the company’s mission-driven growth. Their participation signals growing interest from Japanese capital in technology-enabled solutions addressing global health and climate risks.
