Italian startup SimpL has raised €1.2 million in a Pre-Seed funding round to advance an AI-powered operating system for B2B sales opportunities. The investment was led by Techshop Capital, with participation from Vento Ventures and a group of business angels. The Milan-based company announced that the new capital will support product development, technology strengthening, and team growth.
Addressing B2B Sales Timing Challenges
SimpL was founded by Nicolò Fugallo, Raffaele Scarano, and Luca Marco Agnoli to help sales teams understand which companies to contact, when to approach them, and how to engage them. The startup targets a common problem in B2B sales where a company may have the right product but reaches a potential customer too early or after the customer has already chosen a supplier. By analyzing public signals, SimpL aims to turn scattered information into qualified commercial meetings.
How the Proprietary System Works
SimpL collects and analyzes public data including job postings, company pages, and news without purchasing external data. The information is organized into a proprietary knowledge graph that connects companies, people, and interactions, then analyzed with deep learning models to estimate which decision makers are most likely to respond. The operating system integrates with email, CRM, and calendar tools while learning each client's products, customers, and sales strategy.
A Results-Based Business Model
Rather than charging per-user subscriptions or upfront fees, SimpL operates on a results-based model in which clients pay only for qualified meetings that actually take place. The company says this approach is designed to replace separate subscriptions for sales data, outreach tools, and automations with a single service. It also aligns SimpL's incentives with customer outcomes instead of software usage.
Founder Perspectives
CEO and co-founder Nicolò Fugallo said many B2B sales tools focus on increasing the volume of activities, lists, messages, and automations. He explained that SimpL takes the opposite approach by identifying which companies are worth targeting, when to contact them, and what message to use. Fugallo added that the company is not selling another software tool but an integrated process that learns from every interaction and is paid only on success.
CTO and co-founder Raffaele Scarano said the accuracy of predictions depends on identifying specific signals that reveal commercial opportunities, such as a change in the language of a job posting. He explained that the challenge is not collecting signals but understanding which ones improve prediction and which are noise. Scarano added that the system learns from every response, including negative ones.
Milan Hub and Market Ambitions
SimpL operates from Milan, where it has opened SimpL House, a space inspired by the hacker house model that brings research, product, and business development together. The initiative is intended to attract talent and keep technology development closely connected with customers and the market. The company said it uses its own product to run its sales process, making the team its first users.
The Pre-Seed round positions SimpL to further develop its AI-driven sales operating system in a competitive B2B software environment. Techshop Capital's support is backed by CDP Venture Capital SGR's Digital Transition Fund through NextGenerationEU resources. With a results-based model and a proprietary knowledge graph, SimpL aims to redefine how B2B sales teams approach outbound engagement.
