Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the World Telugu Information Technology Council (WTITC), a global technology and business network based in India. The agreement was formalized at SPARK headquarters by Dr. Fareed Mahmoud Abdalla Alameeri, Chief Strategy Officer of SPARK, and Mr. Sundeep Kumar Makthala, Chairman of WTITC. It creates a framework for applied research, technology transfer, innovation, investment, and business development across Sharjah, the UAE, and the wider GCC region.

A Bridge Between Two Innovation Ecosystems

The partnership connects SPARK's government-backed innovation ecosystem with WTITC's international membership, which includes 2,843 technology companies across 63 countries. It is intended to support applied research, technology validation, pilot projects, knowledge and talent exchange, and commercialization. The collaboration also creates practical pathways for startups, researchers, and enterprises seeking to enter regional and international markets.

Two-Way Access for Companies and Talent

Under the agreement, WTITC members will gain access to Sharjah-based universities, research institutions, companies, startups, and investors. At the same time, businesses and innovators within the Sharjah ecosystem can connect with WTITC's global technology and business networks. The arrangement is designed to function as a two-way bridge rather than a one-sided market entry program.

Practical Areas of Collaboration

The collaboration covers applied research, technology development and transfer, technology validation, pilot projects, knowledge and talent exchange, investment, technology commercialization, and business expansion. These activities are expected to support both early-stage innovation and established companies seeking regional growth. The agreement also emphasizes turning international connections into meaningful opportunities in technology, research, entrepreneurship, and investment.

Supporting Global Expansion and Market Entry

Telugu companies and entrepreneurs will be supported in establishing or expanding their presence in the UAE and the broader GCC. Sharjah-based technologies, companies, and innovators will also receive access to new markets, talent, partnerships, and business opportunities through WTITC's international network. The collaboration was advanced through repeated visits by Sundeep Makthala to Sharjah, where he engaged government, academic, research, and business stakeholders to identify practical areas of mutual interest.

Leadership Highlights Shared Vision

Dr. Alameeri said Sharjah has built an innovation ecosystem that is increasingly connected to global networks of technology, talent, and investment. He explained that the partnership would help turn those connections into opportunities for research collaboration, technology development, commercialization, and business growth. Sundeep Makthala added that the platform connects the global Telugu technology community's capabilities, talent, and companies with Sharjah's advanced research and innovation ecosystem.

Strengthening Sharjah's Global Position

The signing ceremony was attended by Shri Ponnala Lakshmaiah, former IT Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh and Advisor to WTITC, along with several council representatives and business figures. Through the partnership, SPARK and WTITC will work toward sustained international collaboration in research, technology, innovation, investment, and business expansion. The initiative reinforces Sharjah's position as a destination for global technology cooperation while supporting companies, entrepreneurs, and innovators from both ecosystems.

The SPARK and WTITC agreement illustrates how structured international partnerships can connect regional innovation hubs with global technology communities. By combining research infrastructure, commercial support, and a large international network, the two organizations aim to generate practical outcomes in technology development and business expansion. The partnership is expected to create lasting opportunities for innovators, companies, and investors in Sharjah and beyond.
