Bengaluru-based pet care startup Scooby’s Club has raised US$250,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by TDV Partners. The company offers premium dog daycare and overnight boarding services in residential neighbourhoods, aiming to make structured and trustworthy pet care more convenient for urban dog owners. The fresh capital will be directed toward expanding its presence across Bengaluru, hiring and training canine coaches, and strengthening its expert-led service experience.

Funding Purpose and Growth Roadmap

Scooby’s Club plans to use the funding to open two new properties across Bengaluru within the next 6 to 12 months. The startup will also invest in hiring and training canine coaches so that each centre delivers a consistent, expert-led experience. Over the longer term, the company aims to build a network of 100 properties across major Indian cities through a neighbourhood-led model that brings dog care closer to where pet parents live.

Founders and the Brand’s Origin

Scooby’s Club was founded in 2025 by XLRI Jamshedpur alumni Animeha Singh and Ankit Gupta. Singh brings additional training in canine behaviour, dog psychology, and behavioural science to the company’s care philosophy. The founders were motivated by their own experience of struggling to find a dependable place to leave a dog, and they set out to create neighbourhood spaces that offer the trust and standards associated with premium hospitality.

Addressing an Evolving Pet Parenting Need

The startup positions its hubs as an alternative to fragmented boarding and homestay options, especially for working pet parents who need care during workdays, travel, or other commitments. Scooby’s Club describes its offering as a new category of trusted, free-roam dog daycare, hotel, and spa services. Its focus is on combining canine wellbeing, safety, and convenience in a format that fits the lives of today’s pet parents.

A Canine-First Facility Model

Every dog at Scooby’s Club undergoes temperament testing and is grouped by size to support safer and less stressful socialisation. The fully indoor and climate-controlled centres use sound, scent, and colour elements to provide mental enrichment throughout the day. The company also provides allergen-sensitive care, personalised attention, and round-the-clock CCTV access so owners can monitor their dogs remotely.

Investor Confidence and Market Context

Ujwal Sutaria, founder and general partner at TDV Partners, noted that more dual-income-no-kids and single-income-no-kids households treat pets as family members and are willing to spend more on their health, happiness, and everyday care. He added that finding a reliable place to leave a dog for a few hours, a day, or longer can still be surprisingly difficult. In his view, Scooby’s Club is solving this everyday gap with a model built for modern pet parents.

India’s Expanding Pet Care Opportunity

India’s pet care market is estimated at Rs 6,000 crore and is growing at around 20 percent annually, while pet ownership is increasing at roughly 5 percent year-on-year, according to market research cited by the company. The organised segment has attracted notable investor interest, with Vetic raising US$40 million and Supertails securing US$30 million in recent months. Premium direct-to-consumer brand Moe Puppy also raised Rs 2 crore in pre-seed funding, signalling broader momentum in the category.

Scooby’s Club’s pre-seed round provides the resources to demonstrate its neighbourhood-based care model in Bengaluru before a planned multi-city expansion. The company is addressing a clear shift in how Indian pet owners think about daily care, boarding, and overall wellbeing. With investor backing and a service designed around trust, safety, and convenience, the startup is positioned to capitalise on the country’s fast-growing organised pet care market.
