Santé has raised $15 million in Series A funding to expand its artificial intelligence and fintech platform for wine and spirits retailers. The round was led by FINTOP, with returning participation from Bonfire Ventures, Operator Collective, Y Combinator, and Veridical Ventures. The financing comes six months after the New York-based company announced a $7.6 million seed round and follows a period of rapid customer growth.

Scaling a Vertical Retail Platform

Santé says its platform now supports nearly 1,000 retailers that collectively process about $2 billion in annual gross merchandise value. The company also reported that its business grew 500% during the period leading up to the latest financing, reflecting increased adoption among independent wine and liquor stores. With the new capital, Santé plans to deepen its product offering and expand the use of autonomous AI tools designed to help retailers increase sales and improve operating efficiency.

Tackling Industry-Specific Complexity

Wine and spirits retailers face operational requirements that differ significantly from those of general retail businesses, including state-level regulation, local tax compliance, keg returns, vintage management, and complex inventory rules. Santé has built its software around those industry-specific workflows while also addressing broader challenges such as labor shortages, rising operating costs, e-commerce management, and fragmented delivery channels. The company positions its platform as a unified operating system that combines point-of-sale functions, online commerce, marketing, delivery management, subscriptions, and back-office processes.

Expanding AI-Powered Automation

A central part of Santé's strategy is using data generated across its platform to power AI agents that can perform tasks for store operators. These tools are designed to support functions such as receiving and ordering inventory, customer marketing, search optimization, employee scheduling, and merchandising decisions. Santé says its merchandising technology can identify slow-moving products and recommend pricing or promotional actions based on store-level sales data, while its invoice automation can scan distributor invoices and update inventory and unit costs.

Connecting Sales, Marketing, and Commerce

Santé is also using artificial intelligence to automate customer engagement and product catalog management across digital channels. Its marketing tools segment shoppers according to purchase history and can support targeted email and text campaigns, while its e-commerce system generates product descriptions and other catalog content for large numbers of wine, beer, and spirits products. The platform also integrates orders from services including DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and Instacart into a retailer's point-of-sale environment.

Building a Revenue-Focused Product

Chief Executive Darren Fike said Santé was initially created to reduce the operational burden facing independent wine and liquor retailers. He said the company's next phase is focused on building a system that can more actively drive revenue by re-engaging customers, supporting sales activity, and improving retailers' financial performance. The broader goal is to move beyond software that records transactions and toward technology that can take actions on behalf of store owners.

Investor View

FINTOP Director Brittani Roberts said the investment reflects the firm's confidence in Santé's ability to combine vertical software, embedded fintech, and practical AI workflows. She highlighted the company's focus on back-office automation and tools intended to improve store profitability rather than simply track inventory or sales data. FINTOP's involvement also reinforces growing investor interest in industry-specific software platforms that use artificial intelligence to automate complex operational workflows.

The Series A gives Santé additional capital to expand a platform already serving a sizable network of wine and spirits retailers. Its approach combines specialized retail software with AI agents designed to automate routine work and support revenue-generating decisions across inventory, marketing, staffing, and digital commerce. As the company scales, its ability to show measurable improvements in retailer efficiency and profitability will be central to demonstrating the value of its AI operating system strategy.
