RobotPlusPlus Raises Tens of Millions of RMB in Series C Round

Qianggang Capital Fund led the round as RobotPlusPlus targets global expansion and embodied AI

RobotPlusPlus, a Beijing-based industrial robotics company, has completed a Series C funding round worth hundreds of millions of RMB, equivalent to tens of millions of US dollars. The investment was led by Qianggang Capital Fund, with participation from GIG Capital Group, Sealand Innovation, and Juntong Capital, while existing backer Fosun RZ Capital increased its stake. The company plans to use the new capital to accelerate global expansion and strengthen its embodied artificial intelligence capabilities.


Targeting Dangerous Work at Height

Across shipyards, oil and gas facilities, wind farms, and building facades, maintenance work still places skilled personnel on scaffolding and other hazardous structures. RobotPlusPlus builds robotic systems that perform these tasks, keeping people away from high-risk environments while improving overall safety and efficiency. Its hull derusting robots are deployed at more than 100 shipyards and have serviced over 10,000 cargo vessels.

Efficiency Gains and Market Adoption

Compared with manual methods, the company states its robots improve work efficiency by five to six times and reduce overall costs by 30 to 50 percent. These gains have supported strong adoption across maritime and industrial maintenance, with market share above 70 percent for hull derusting applications. By taking over physically demanding tasks, the robots allow skilled professionals to focus on supervision and complex decision-making.

Global Reach and R&D Depth

RobotPlusPlus operates in more than 18 countries, with customers and partners including NOSCO Shipyard, Drydocks World, ST Engineering Marine, Saudi Aramco, and Vopak. More than 60 percent of its workforce is dedicated to research and development, with R&D investment exceeding 20 percent of revenue for three consecutive years. These resources support continuous product improvement and the creation of specialized AI models for industrial environments.

Data Advantage for Embodied AI

The company has accumulated more than two million operating hours across its robotic fleet, generating a distinctive dataset from real-world industrial conditions. This operational data is being used to strengthen vertical AI models that can handle complex, high-risk tasks beyond controlled settings. The combination of field experience and AI development underpins RobotPlusPlus' expansion from individual robots to broader autonomous operations.

Executive and Investor Views

Founder and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Hua-Yang Xu said the true value of industrial robotics lies in real-world execution, not laboratory demonstrations. Zhang Zhenming, General Manager of Qianggang Capital Fund, added that the endgame for embodied AI in industry is its deployment in the most demanding worksites. Jin Hualong, chairman of Fosun RZ Capital, noted that the firm first invested in 2022 and has continued to increase its commitment.

Funding Plans and Market Expansion

The Series C capital will be used to accelerate international growth and advance embodied AI, areas the company sees as central to its next phase. RobotPlusPlus is expanding beyond ship hull derusting into other industrial applications, supported by its installed base and operational data. The financing also provides balance sheet strength to pursue larger deployments with global maritime, energy, and infrastructure clients.


By combining practical field deployment with steady investment in artificial intelligence, RobotPlusPlus is positioning itself as a key player in industrial embodied AI. The new Series C funding provides resources to extend its international presence and deepen the data advantages it has built across more than two million operating hours. As the company broadens its product range and customer base, it is likely to play a growing role in making hazardous industrial maintenance safer and more productive.
