inKind, a commerce platform dedicated to restaurant financing and growth, has successfully closed an oversubscribed $414 million financing round. The new capital injection was led by prominent financial institutions Citi and Cross River, bringing the company's total funds raised to over $1.2 billion. This significant investment will bolster inKind's mission to provide a unique growth infrastructure for the hospitality industry.

A New Model for Restaurant Growth

inKind is pioneering a new approach by building infrastructure that connects operators with both capital and high-intent guests. Its platform combines upfront funding with demand generation and financial tools, offering an alternative to restrictive debt or dilutive equity investments. This model allows restaurant owners to focus on growth and quality while maintaining control of their business.

For consumers, the platform serves as a curated network for discovering exceptional dining experiences and earning rewards. This dual-sided marketplace creates a symbiotic relationship where restaurants gain access to quality demand and patrons benefit from a vetted selection of establishments. The company's focus on quality helps build a trusted ecosystem for all participants.

Scaling with Institutional Backing

The latest $414 million tranche features significant commitments, with Citi contributing $175 million and Cross River providing $150 million in senior financing. Additional mezzanine funding came from Sagard, Varadero Capital, and Trinity Capital. This transaction builds upon a recent $320 million commitment from Liberty Mutual Investments, showcasing strong institutional confidence.

The participation of a global bank like Citi, whose venture arm invested in 2025, marks a major validation of inKind's approach. With this expanded financial facility, the company plans to deploy more than $1 billion in growth capital over the next year. This capital will fuel its goal of expanding its network to nearly 10,000 restaurant partners.

Building a Curated Commerce Network

inKind has experienced remarkable growth, expanding from approximately 1,000 restaurant partners in 2022 to over 8,500 today. Its user base has also surged to more than five million, establishing one of the largest curated restaurant networks in the country. This rapid expansion is a testament to the platform's value for both restaurants and diners.

A key element of this success is a highly selective curation process, which ensures a high-quality network of partners like MINA Group and José Andrés Group. By focusing on strong operators, inKind builds a durable and trusted ecosystem that protects guest trust and makes the platform more valuable. To date, the company has provided over $850 million in capital to its partners.

The Future of Restaurant Commerce

Looking ahead, inKind is focused on building a comprehensive growth operating system for restaurants by integrating data and AI-native capabilities. The platform analyzes network-wide patterns to provide partners with a competitive advantage, helping them make more informed decisions. Co-founder and CEO Johann Moonesinghe emphasized that this growth supports local economies and the communities these essential businesses serve.

This latest $414 million financing round solidifies inKind's position as a transformative force in the hospitality sector. The substantial institutional backing validates its unique model of combining capital, commerce, and technology to foster sustainable growth for restaurants. As inKind prepares to deploy over a billion dollars in new capital, it is poised to redefine how restaurants access resources and connect with diners.
