Workflow automation platform Relay.app has announced that it will shut down its service in 2026, ending access first for free users and later for paying customers. Free accounts will remain available until August 15, 2026, while paying customers will retain access until September 14, 2026. The company said the closure will affect existing workflows, stored data, subscriptions, and connected app credentials, and it is urging customers to prepare before their respective deadlines.

Shutdown Timeline

Relay.app began winding down operations on July 16, when it disabled new account registrations and stopped allowing free users to upgrade to paid plans. Existing customers can continue using their current workflows during the transition period, with active automations remaining operational until the applicable shutdown date. Data export tools are also available so users can begin moving workflows and records to alternative platforms.

Free-plan users have a 30-day transition period, with access ending at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on August 15. Relay.app said free accounts and all associated data will be permanently deleted after that cutoff. Users who want to retain workflows, run histories, or table data must therefore complete their exports before access ends.

Paid Customer Arrangements

Paying customers can continue using Relay.app at no cost until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on September 14. The company said subscriptions were canceled effective July 16 through its billing provider, meaning customers will not be charged again during the wind-down. Annual subscribers are also expected to receive prorated refunds for the unused portion of their current billing periods.

Relay.app is also temporarily increasing usage allowances for paid workspaces to support migration efforts. Each eligible workspace will receive an additional 25,000 steps and 10,000 AI credits per month during the final 60 days of service, with no charges for that usage. The company said the added capacity is intended to reduce disruption while teams transfer or rebuild important workflows elsewhere.

Data Export and Privacy

Customers can export several types of workspace content before deletion, including workflows, sequences, and MCP servers in JSON format. Relay.app is also allowing users to export AI prompts, run history, and tables as CSV files, giving teams a way to preserve core operational information. The company has published documentation explaining the export process and how users can prepare their data for migration.

Any customer content or product data that is not exported will be permanently deleted after the relevant shutdown deadline, according to the announcement. Stored credentials and tokens for connected third-party applications will also be deleted when an account is removed, after which Relay.app will no longer access those services. Customers who prefer to close their accounts earlier can manually delete them through the platform's settings.

Transition Support

Relay.app said technical support will remain available throughout the wind-down period for customers who need help exporting data or preparing workflows for migration. Paying customers will receive priority assistance for transition-related questions, particularly if their teams depend on complex or business-critical automations. The company encouraged organizations with significant reliance on the platform to begin planning their transition as early as possible.

The closure will bring Relay.app's service to an end after years of supporting customers with workflow automation and connected-app processes. With separate shutdown dates for free and paying users, customers now need to export essential data, document existing automations, and rebuild critical workflows before their accounts are deleted. Relay.app has structured the transition around continued access, added usage capacity for paid users, prorated refunds where applicable, and technical support intended to ease the move to alternative platforms.
