French health technology startup Relaisanté has raised €6 million in its first funding round, backed by Ternel and Aquiti. The company, created earlier this year, has already equipped 315 healthcare facilities and connected 12,000 professionals to its platform. The new capital will help accelerate deployment and improve the organisation of patient returns home after hospitalisation.
Addressing a Critical Discharge Challenge
Every year millions of patients in France leave hospital with complex follow-up care needs. Hospital teams often face very short deadlines to arrange nursing, home assistance, rehabilitation, and medical equipment. Relaisanté was designed with healthcare facilities to reduce these coordination failures and ease pressure on families while improving continuity of care.
Rapid Matching and Early Market Acceptance
The platform integrates patient needs and identifies professionals able to intervene at home. According to the company, available home caregivers can be found in as little as 18 minutes, a significant reduction compared with traditional searches. This early response has included adoption by 315 healthcare institutions and 12,000 connected professionals since the start of the year.
Founders and Investor Backing
Etienne Boix and Pierre Godet launched the company earlier this year with a focus on practical coordination tools for hospitals. The round was backed by Ternel and Aquiti, two investors active in supporting early stage European companies. Their involvement provides both capital and strategic support as Relaisanté scales its operations.
Funding and Scaling Objectives
The six million euro round will support an ambitious expansion across France. Relaisanté aims to operate in 1,000 healthcare establishments by 2027 and grow its network to 30,000 professionals by the end of that year. The startup currently employs 15 people and expects to reach 20 employees before the close of the year.
Responding to System Wide Pressures
In 2024, 12.7 million patients were hospitalised in France, and most returned home after treatment. Hospital discharge remains a point of rupture in the care pathway, while ageing populations and budgetary constraints increase pressure on facilities. Relaisanté positions its platform as a tool to help hospitals manage patient flow and support earlier, safer returns home.
Broadening Services Through Technology
Initially focused on nursing care and personal assistance, Relaisanté plans to extend its platform to paramedical services, medical equipment and other home health offerings. It will also develop an artificial intelligence capability that uses collected data to anticipate discharges and help facilities optimise average length of stay. The system is intended to identify the most suitable discharge arrangement and automatically calculate patient out-of-pocket costs.
European Ambitions and Long Term Vision
Beyond France, the company is considering expansion into other European countries by 2027 or 2028. The founders note that population ageing affects many health systems and that hospitals cannot simply double in size. For now, the priority remains building a solid national infrastructure before international moves, although the platform could be adapted to similar markets.
Relaisanté's first institutional funding round arrives as hospitals face mounting pressure to reduce length of stay while maintaining quality of care. The startup proposes a digital coordination layer that connects hospitals, home care providers and families around a faster discharge process. With new capital, a growing network, and a broader service roadmap, the company aims to become a central infrastructure for post-hospital care in France and potentially beyond.
