Norwegian compliance software startup Reggy has publicly launched its regulatory management platform as European companies face a growing number of rules spanning artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, privacy, financial services, and corporate governance. Founded in Oslo in 2023 and previously known as Fortifai, the company has operated with enterprise customers since 2024 while developing its technology ahead of the wider launch. Reggy already counts Telenor, Aker BioMarine, Ardoq, and Mainstream Renewable Power among its customers, giving the startup an established enterprise base as it moves out of its quieter early operating phase.

A Unified Approach to Compliance

Reggy is positioning its platform as a central system for companies that currently manage regulatory requirements through spreadsheets, consultants, specialist software, and disconnected internal processes. The software translates obligations into assigned responsibilities, supporting evidence, documentation, and audit trails, while covering areas including security, privacy, anti-bribery, health and safety, ESG, and AI governance. Rather than requiring organizations to introduce a separate product for every new framework, Reggy says additional regulations can be incorporated into the same system, allowing compliance teams to maintain a consolidated record of requirements and completed work.

European Regulation Creates New Pressure

The launch coincides with the phased implementation of the EU AI Act and comes as European businesses continue adapting to frameworks such as GDPR, NIS2, and the Digital Operational Resilience Act. According to figures cited by Reggy, European companies faced 850 new regulatory obligations between 2017 and 2022, while global regulatory enforcement fines reached a record $19.3 billion in 2024. The increasing workload has turned regulatory complexity into a broader business issue, particularly for organizations seeking to meet new requirements without significantly expanding their compliance teams or relying more heavily on external consultants.

Founder Experience Shapes the Platform

Reggy was founded by CEO Abbey Lin, a former chief compliance officer with around two decades of experience in compliance leadership, including roles involving Microsoft, KPMG, and Yara International. Lin said the platform was developed in response to the difficulty compliance teams face when responsibilities and supporting evidence are scattered across multiple systems, creating additional work during implementation and audits. Reggy is also incorporating artificial intelligence into its product, with the aim of allowing lean compliance teams to manage larger volumes of regulatory requirements without needing dedicated internal specialists for every individual framework.

Enterprise Adoption and Investor Backing

The company has been operating in beta since 2024, with customers using the platform as part of their day-to-day compliance processes before its public launch. Aker BioMarine SVP General Counsel Lars Jacobsen described Reggy as a centralized compliance knowledge system that allows the company to bring information together rather than keeping it distributed across separate tools, while providing a foundation that can expand alongside future requirements. Reggy is backed by Norwegian early-stage investors Startuplab and RunwayFBU as well as pan-European impact fund Impact Shakers, and is initially focusing its commercial expansion on the European market.

Reggy is entering a governance, risk, and compliance software market that Technavio projects will grow by $44.2 billion between 2025 and 2029, representing annual growth of about 14.2%. The Oslo startup is betting that companies facing an expanding regulatory environment will increasingly favor centralized platforms that can organize obligations, responsibilities, evidence, and audit records without the complexity associated with multiple specialized systems. With several enterprise customers already using its technology and European regulation continuing to expand, Reggy is now seeking to convert its early adoption into broader regional growth before pursuing international expansion.
