Quanfluence, a Bengaluru-based deep technology company focused on photonic quantum computing, announced on October 7, 2026 that it has secured US$10 million in a funding round led by Chiratae Ventures. Pi Ventures, which led the company's Seed round in 2024, returned as a co-investor, and Rainmatter by Zerodha also participated. The capital will support Quanfluence's effort to integrate indigenously designed photonic chips, control electronics, and software into a single full-stack quantum computer.
Funding Composition and Investor Backing
The round was led by Chiratae Ventures, with repeat backing from Pi Ventures and participation from Rainmatter by Zerodha. Pi Ventures had previously led Quanfluence's Seed round in 2024, and its follow-on investment signals continued conviction in the company's technology. Venkatesh Peddi, Managing Director and Partner at Chiratae Ventures, said the fund is keen to support indigenous deep technology bets and views photonics as one of the most credible routes to scalable quantum computing.
Full-Stack Photonic Roadmap
Quanfluence plans to deploy the new capital toward building a complete photonic quantum computer that combines its own photonic integrated circuits, electronic integrated circuits, control systems, optics, and algorithms. The company has outlined a roadmap that targets early processors by 2027 and larger scalable machines by 2029. This system-level focus is central to Quanfluence's stated goal of moving beyond laboratory experiments to useful quantum computers.
Progress Since Seed Round
Since its previous funding round, Quanfluence has designed and fabricated multiple photonic integrated circuits and electronic integrated circuits, developed low-loss chip-to-fiber coupling designs, and demonstrated the generation of quantum light states. The company has also advanced photonic chips for light-matter interactions. Parts of its technology have moved beyond the laboratory, with a productized photonic Ising machine and several quantum devices now commercially available.
Commercialization and Strategic Importance
Quanfluence has already translated parts of its research into commercial offerings, including a productized photonic Ising machine and multiple quantum devices available to customers. This commercialization provides near-term revenue while the company continues its longer-term hardware development. Investors view the strategy as a way to de-risk the substantial engineering challenge of building a universal quantum computer and to strengthen India's sovereign quantum capabilities.
Founding Team and Industry Credentials
Quanfluence was started in 2021 by Sujoy Chakravarty, Ravi Mehta, Biman Chattopadhyay, Aditi Vaidya, Professor Anil Prabhakar of IIT Madras, and Professor Sandeep Goyal of IISER Mohali. The company is incubated at the IIT Madras Incubation Cell. Three of its founders previously built Silicon and Beyond, a semiconductor intellectual property company that was acquired by Synopsys, giving the team a proven track record in chip design.
Investor and Strategic Perspectives
Quanfluence Co-founder and CEO Sujoy Chakravarty said the company chose photonics because it offers a credible path to scale, and the new funding will bring core components together into a complete system. Shubham Sandeep, Partner at Pi Ventures, added that the team has demonstrated deep technical expertise, patient execution, and the ability to attract world-class talent. Abhinav Singh Negi of Rainmatter by Zerodha noted that Quanfluence is de-risking long-term hardware challenges with near-term revenue while strengthening India's sovereign quantum capability.
The funding highlights growing investor confidence in India's deep technology and quantum computing sector at a time when the global landscape is shifting from academic research to industrial-scale development. Quanfluence's approach combines differentiated photonic architecture with near-term commercial devices and a longer-term full-stack roadmap. With US$10 million in fresh capital, the company is positioned to accelerate its system integration efforts and build toward its 2027 and 2029 milestones.
