Procore Technologies has agreed to acquire DroneDeploy for approximately $845 million in cash, bringing a leading reality-capture and robotics platform into its construction management ecosystem. The transaction is designed to connect digital project records with continuous visual information from active jobsites, giving construction teams a more complete view of progress, safety, quality, and operational conditions across complex projects. Announced on July 29, 2026, the deal is expected to close by the end of the year, subject to regulatory approvals, DroneDeploy shareholder approval, and other customary closing conditions.
Expanding Procore’s Construction Platform
DroneDeploy provides cloud-based software that collects and processes data from drones, ground robots, mobile devices, fixed cameras, and wearable equipment. Its platform has been used across more than three million jobsites in over 180 countries, allowing contractors and asset operators to map sites, document conditions, monitor progress, and identify potential issues without relying entirely on manual reporting. Procore plans to combine these capabilities with its existing collaboration, workflow, and project-management tools, creating a platform that can capture physical conditions and connect them directly to construction decisions.
Advancing an AI-Driven Strategy
The acquisition supports Procore’s effort to evolve from a system used primarily for project collaboration and recordkeeping into a broader intelligence layer for the construction industry. By integrating DroneDeploy’s imagery and three-dimensional site data with Procore AI, the company aims to convert visual information into structured observations, recommendations, and automated actions that can be delivered within existing project workflows. The long-term objective is to develop digital coworkers that can monitor projects, interpret changing site conditions, flag risks earlier, and initiate appropriate responses within a secure, compliant, and auditable environment.
Combining Specialized Construction Data
The companies also expect the transaction to unite two large, industry-specific datasets that could strengthen the development of practical construction AI. Procore said its platform processed nearly 400 million photos, more than 126 million drawings, and over 10 million requests for information, submittals, and inspections during the past year, while DroneDeploy has accumulated visual data covering about 20 trillion square feet. Together, these records could help AI systems better understand the relationship between documented project decisions and the physical conditions visible on a jobsite, improving the relevance and accuracy of automated insights.
Commercial and Operational Opportunities
Procore President and CEO Ajei Gopal said the company intends to begin cross-selling DroneDeploy’s products to Procore customers after the transaction closes, while also introducing Procore’s platform to DroneDeploy users. DroneDeploy CEO and co-founder Mike Winn said joining Procore would accelerate the company’s goal of making reality capture a native part of construction workflows rather than a separate tool added alongside core project systems. The combination may also reduce reliance on manual inspections by allowing cameras, drones, and robots to collect information regularly and support field teams facing limited time, labor shortages, and growing project complexity.
If completed, the acquisition would significantly expand Procore’s presence in reality capture, robotics, and visual intelligence while giving DroneDeploy access to a larger construction technology platform and customer base. The strategic value of the deal will depend on Procore’s ability to integrate DroneDeploy’s technology, retain key talent, and turn extensive visual and project data into reliable tools that improve jobsite outcomes and reduce operational friction.
