Prem AI, a Swiss startup focused on private AI infrastructure, has announced a significant move to secure its market position. The company is seeking to raise $100 million in a Series A funding round at a valuation of over $500 million. This financial initiative coincides with the launch of Fluso, its new encrypted AI workspace designed for enterprises with stringent data security needs.

Addressing the Sovereign AI Imperative

For industries like finance and law, using mainstream AI services presents a fundamental conflict between innovation and security. Every API call to a third-party provider transfers sensitive data, such as trading strategies or confidential legal documents, to external servers. This practice creates significant competitive and regulatory exposure, a risk that data-centric organizations are increasingly unwilling to accept.

Introducing Fluso for On-Premise Intelligence

In response to these challenges, Prem AI has launched Fluso, an encrypted AI workspace that operates entirely within a client's own infrastructure. The platform is designed for maximum flexibility, supporting private clouds, virtual private clouds, or completely air-gapped on-premise environments. This architecture ensures that organizations handling highly sensitive information can leverage AI without their data ever leaving their control.

The company's solution provides a full AI stack, from model inference to sophisticated agent automation, packaged as a ready-to-use product. Fluso utilizes open-weight models, allowing every parameter to be fully audited for transparency and security. Crucially, client data is never incorporated into training pipelines, guaranteeing information remains private and proprietary to the user.

A Competitive Edge in a Growing Market

While the self-hosted AI market includes players like Databricks and open-source models from Meta and Mistral, Prem AI differentiates itself with a focus on usability. The company provides a finished product with a complete application layer, rather than a complex toolkit requiring extensive assembly. Founder Simone Giacomelli emphasizes that security without a user-friendly interface is merely infrastructure that remains underutilized.

Financial Momentum and Strategic Backing

The ambitious $100 million Series A round builds on Prem AI's recent financial successes and signals strong investor confidence. The company previously secured a $14 million seed round in April 2024, which was followed by a $6.1 million bridge round at a $200 million valuation. If successful, the new funding would represent a significant 2.5x valuation increase in just over two years.

Prem AI has attracted support from a notable group of investors, including Fan Zhang, a co-founder of Sequoia Capital China. Also backing the venture is David Maisel, the founding chairman of Marvel Studios who orchestrated its landmark sale to Disney. The company, which expects to close the round in the third quarter of 2026, will use the capital to expand its team and accelerate product development.

Prem AI's strategic fundraising and product launch mark a pivotal moment for the enterprise AI sector. By providing a secure, sovereign, and user-friendly platform, the company is directly addressing the core data privacy concerns of high-stakes industries. This new capital injection is poised to accelerate its mission, solidifying its role in the growing movement toward self-hosted and controlled artificial intelligence.
