Indonesian investment platform Pluang has introduced a pioneering AI-assisted trading feature, a first for the country's regulated market. Named Pluang Agentic Trading, the tool allows users to connect their live investment accounts with leading large language models like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. This integration enables investors to perform portfolio analysis, conduct research, and execute trades using simple conversational prompts.

Democratizing Investment Analysis

The primary goal of this new feature is to democratize access to sophisticated financial analysis for retail investors. Andreas Agung Hendrawan, Pluang’s Director of Marketing and Commercial, stated that quality analysis was previously a privilege for institutions. This technology aims to provide investors everywhere with the same caliber of analytical tools and the ability to act on them instantly.

Pluang Agentic Trading empowers users to manage their investments through natural language commands. Investors can review portfolio holdings, retrieve real-time market data, and even ask the AI to summarize complex earnings reports. The feature supports a wide range of assets, including US and Indonesian stocks, gold, and various crypto assets.

Prioritizing User Security and Control

Pluang has emphasized that user control and security are central to the feature's design, distinguishing it from unregulated trading bots. The system operates on a "propose, confirm, execute" model, where the AI can only suggest transactions. Every trade requires explicit manual approval from the user before it is processed, ensuring investors retain full authority over their accounts.

Co-founder Claudia Kolonas highlighted that building robust safeguards was the most significant development challenge. The platform incorporates multiple security layers, including server-side spending limits and protections against prompt injection attacks. These measures are designed to prevent unauthorized or erroneous transactions, prioritizing the safety of user funds above all else.

Market Context and Phased Rollout

This launch places Pluang alongside global brokerages that are increasingly experimenting with generative AI for retail investing. Major US platforms such as Robinhood, Interactive Brokers, and TradeStation have introduced similar AI integrations earlier this year. Pluang's initiative marks a significant step in bringing this cutting-edge technology to the Southeast Asian market under a regulated framework.

The feature is currently being rolled out to a limited group of users through a whitelist system for its beta phase. The company has scheduled a broader public release for mid-August 2026, allowing for further refinement based on initial user feedback. This phased approach ensures a stable and secure launch for the wider investment community in Indonesia.

Pluang operates under the supervision of key Indonesian financial regulators, including OJK and Bappebti, ensuring compliance with local laws. The company also advises users that analysis from third-party AI may contain errors and encourages independent research. This transparency is crucial for managing user expectations and promoting responsible investment decisions.

The introduction of Pluang Agentic Trading represents a significant milestone for Indonesia's financial technology sector. By integrating advanced AI capabilities with stringent security protocols and user control, the platform is set to redefine the retail investment experience. This move not only enhances accessibility to sophisticated financial tools but also sets a new standard for innovation within the nation's regulated investment landscape.
