PLACE, a real estate and financial services technology unicorn, announced on October 9, 2026, that it has agreed to acquire Ardley, an AI-powered automated recapture and retention software provider for mortgage companies and banks. The move strengthens PLACE's growing platform for lenders and financial institutions. Ardley sends pre-structured loan offers to customers and will become part of PLACE's connected mortgage ecosystem.
Strategic Expansion of a Connected Mortgage Platform
The acquisition marks another significant step in PLACE's strategy to build a connected operating system for the mortgage industry. The industry has traditionally relied on fragmented systems across borrower acquisition, origination, fulfillment, servicing, portfolio intelligence, retention, and transaction services. PLACE is combining technology, data, AI, and services in one platform to help lenders operate more efficiently and maintain stronger consumer relationships.
Ardley Joins Complementary Acquisitions
Ardley becomes part of a portfolio that includes recent complementary acquisitions Maxwell, Remine, Envoy Mortgage, and multiple divisions acquired from Radian Group. Earlier this year, PLACE also acquired Radian's Real Estate Services business, expanding its institutional capabilities across valuation, due diligence, and REO asset management. These assets power an integrated platform designed to identify opportunities, engage borrowers, originate and fulfill loans, and retain customers across the homeownership lifecycle, according to Ben Kinney, Co-Founder and CEO of PLACE.
Retention Technology and Portfolio Intelligence
Ardley's mortgage technology platform helps servicers and lenders turn their existing loan portfolios into new originations. Mortgage companies and banks spend hundreds of millions of dollars annually to acquire customers, only to lose those customers a few years later on a refinance or additional purchase loan. Ardley's technology focuses on retention while generating new and additional opportunities such as second mortgages or lines of credit.
Existing Integration and Instant Scale
The acquisition builds on an existing relationship between Ardley and Maxwell, announced earlier this year, that pairs Ardley's portfolio intelligence with Maxwell's point-of-sale technology. PLACE acquired Maxwell, a provider of AI-powered mortgage technology and services, in September 2026. Maxwell serves more than 400 financial institutions and facilitates more than US$130 billion in annual mortgage transactions, while Ardley and Maxwell separately touched nearly 10% of US mortgage originations in 2025.
Leadership Commentary and Continued Operations
Nathan Den Herder, Founder and CEO of Ardley, said the company was built to help lenders understand their portfolios and identify the right opportunity for the right borrower at the right time. He added that the ecosystem PLACE is assembling creates an enormous opportunity for customers and the industry by combining intelligence with scale, technology, and capabilities. Ardley will continue serving its existing customers and partners with the added resources, capabilities, and reach of the PLACE ecosystem.
The addition of Ardley gives PLACE the ability to connect intelligence about existing customers and loan portfolios directly to the technology and services used to originate the next transaction. PLACE's homeownership ecosystem serves millions of consumers and businesses across real estate, mortgage, and homeownership, supporting hundreds of thousands of professionals, lenders, and title and escrow companies. With this acquisition, PLACE continues to consolidate key mortgage technology capabilities and expand its role as a connected platform for the industry.
