Pandektes, a Copenhagen-based legal information infrastructure company, has raised €13.5 million in a Series A round led by Alstin Capital. PROfounders, People Ventures, and other existing investors also participated in the financing. The company will use the capital to support international expansion, grow its team, and open more of its legal data infrastructure to third-party developers.

Modernizing Access to Legal Information

Almost everything lawyers work with is public, including legislation, judgments, and administrative decisions published by courts and authorities. These materials come from thousands of separate sources, each with its own format, language, and update cycle, and very little was built to be read by machines. Historically, turning this fragmented information into a searchable and current resource required large editorial teams working by hand, which kept costs high and limited competition.

A New Platform for Structured Legal Data

Pandektes was founded by Casper Laursen and Søren Brokær and reached more than 500 customers within two years of launching its platform. Its users include law firms, companies, and public institutions across Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland. The platform automatically collects and connects legal sources at scale, while legal experts focus on judgment and quality control, allowing lawyers to receive answers with every source linked and open to verification.

Strong Commercial Traction

Pandektes reports that its revenue has grown sixfold in the past year. Around two thirds of the organizations that test the platform become customers, and many of them cancel their incumbent licenses entirely. This conversion rate is significant because moving away from a database a firm has relied on for decades is a major operational decision.

Investor Confidence in Legal Infrastructure

The investment is part of a broader effort to shift legal information away from a small number of legacy providers such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, Beck, and Karnov. PROfounders and People Ventures joined Alstin Capital in backing the company because the underlying structured legal data is viewed as a critical asset for the future of legal work. The investor group believes the company that owns and maintains this data will shape how legal services are delivered.

Opening the Platform to Developers

Pandektes plans to allow legal AI companies and other technology builders to work from the same structured legal information. More than 100 organizations have joined the waitlist for its API before the API has even been announced. The company sees this openness as a way to become a foundational layer for legal technology rather than only a research tool.

Expansion Plans

The new capital will support international expansion, a larger team, and the opening of additional infrastructure to outside developers. Pandektes has already moved beyond its home market of Denmark and established operations in Germany and Switzerland. The Series A round gives the company the resources to extend that model into new jurisdictions.

Pandektes has demonstrated that automated systems can replace much of the manual editorial work that long defined legal information services. Its rapid customer growth, revenue gains, and API waitlist indicate strong demand for a more open and structured approach to legal data. With €13.5 million in fresh funding, the company is positioned to expand its influence over how legal information is accessed and used across Europe.
