Eindhoven-based OWOW Venture Studio has raised €2.65 million from eight family offices and angel investors to build and support early-stage B2B technology companies serving traditional industries. The capital will be deployed over the next three years, with a particular focus on manufacturing, original equipment manufacturers, machine builders, and construction. OWOW plans to combine direct investment with product development expertise, market validation, and access to potential launch customers.

Capital to Support New Ventures

OWOW initially targeted €2 million for the financing before increasing the round to €2.65 million following stronger investor interest. The venture studio intends to invest between €100,000 and €250,000 in each company, depending on its maturity, commercial potential, and development requirements. It aims to add at least three new ventures to its portfolio annually over the next three years.

The studio will work with businesses created internally as well as existing early-stage startups founded by external entrepreneurs seeking capital and operational support. Its investment approach centers on identifying business problems within industries where OWOW already has substantial market knowledge and customer relationships. The company is also seeking founders who may not yet have a specific startup idea but have the experience and ambition to build businesses within its target sectors.

Focus on Industrial Software and AI

OWOW is concentrating its venture-building activities on traditional B2B sectors where operational processes often remain dependent on outdated, disconnected, or inefficient digital systems. Areas of interest include software-as-a-service, artificial intelligence, and physical AI applications serving manufacturers, OEMs, machine builders, and construction businesses. The studio believes its familiarity with these industries can help startups identify practical commercial problems and validate demand at an early stage.

Founder and co-CEO Robin Dohmen said OWOW evaluates opportunities based partly on whether its own network can provide potential launch customers for a new venture. The studio has spent almost 15 years working with companies across its target industries, giving it relationships that can support early customer discovery and product validation. This approach is designed to reduce the risk of developing technology without first establishing a clear commercial need.

Venture Studio Model

Beyond capital, portfolio companies can draw on OWOW's internal team of AI specialists, software developers, designers, and product professionals. The studio also provides access to its existing client network, allowing founders to test products, gather feedback, and potentially secure early commercial relationships before committing significant resources to development. OWOW positions this combination of investment and hands-on operational support as a way to accelerate the creation of commercially viable B2B technology companies.

The venture studio formally launched in late 2025 and has already completed its first two investments. One is Eindhoven-based Synthgen, which develops synthetic data used to train artificial intelligence models for robots and machines, while the other is UK-based Caddy Clubhouse, a platform that connects golfers with caddies. OWOW has indicated that additional investments and internally developed ventures will follow as it deploys the new capital.

Leadership and Expansion

OWOW Venture Studio is led by Dohmen alongside a team that includes Head of Ventures Kees van Nunen, Head of Product Vincent van Deursen, and OWOW founder Pieter-Jan Pieters. The organization also works with additional specialists depending on the requirements of individual projects and is supported by an advisory board that includes venture capital expertise. Its broader strategy combines sector knowledge, technical development capabilities, capital, and commercial networks within a single venture-building platform.

The €2.65 million financing gives OWOW Venture Studio dedicated capital to expand its portfolio while pursuing a structured approach to building technology businesses for established industries. By targeting sectors where it already has customers and operational experience, the studio is seeking to validate commercial demand earlier in the startup development process. Over the next three years, OWOW plans to use the funding to create and back a growing pipeline of B2B software and AI ventures across manufacturing and other traditional industries.
