Lab-grown diamond jewellery startup ONYA has raised Rs 12.5 crore in a pre-Series A funding round led by Divisa Family Office. Existing investor Zeropearl VC also participated and increased its commitment after backing the company’s earlier Rs 5.5 crore seed round. The Bengaluru-based brand plans to use the fresh capital to expand its retail network, strengthen digital acquisition, and advance product research and development.

Funding Details and Investor Support

The pre-Series A round was led by Divisa Family Office, while existing investor Zeropearl VC increased its commitment after the company’s initial Rs 5.5 crore seed raise. Angel investors from the seed stage, including the founders of MyGate and UrbanVault, also provided early backing. ONYA confirmed that the newly raised capital will be directed toward retail expansion, digital customer acquisition, and deeper research and development.

Strategic Use of Funds

The company intends to use the investment to open additional stores, with an initial focus on Pune and Hyderabad. It will also enhance its online presence and personalization capabilities to improve the digital shopping experience. A portion of the capital will support innovation in jewellery design and manufacturing as the brand scales its operations.

Retail Expansion and Revenue Growth

ONYA has built a retail network of eight flagship stores across major high streets in Bengaluru, Amanora Gold Souk Mall in Pune, and Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. The startup reached monthly recurring revenue of Rs 3.5 crore within 20 months of starting operations. It now plans to expand into new markets through a combination of company-owned stores and franchise partnerships.

Product Portfolio and Brand Positioning

Co-founded in 2024 by Gaurav Choudhary and Himani Yadav, ONYA takes a design-led approach to lab-grown diamond jewellery rather than competing only on price. The brand offers IGI-certified VVS EF lab-grown diamonds set in BIS-hallmarked gold, with a lifetime exchange and an 80 percent buyback guarantee. Its product range includes the patented ONYA Setting and the ONYA Signature Collection, which draws inspiration from Neoclassical architecture.

Founder Vision

Himani Yadav said the idea for ONYA emerged from her own experience shopping for an engagement ring and noticing a gap between traditional jewellery designs and the cost of mined diamonds. She said the brand was created with the belief that fine jewellery should be worn every day and treated as an expression of personal identity. This philosophy underpins the company’s focus on practical, elegant pieces that blend art with science.

Market Context and Competitive Landscape

Investor enthusiasm for India’s lab-grown diamond jewellery segment has grown sharply, with nine dedicated startups raising $26.4 million in 2025 compared with $4.7 million in 2024. Notable recent rounds include Aukera’s Rs 90 crore debt funding, Limelight Lab Grown Diamonds’ Rs 275 crore strategic raise, and GIVA’s Rs 530 crore Series C for its Heer brand. ONYA competes with players such as Aukera, Limelight, Jewel Box, and Fiona in this expanding category.

ONYA’s latest funding round highlights the rising investor confidence in India’s lab-grown diamond market and the brand’s early retail momentum. With plans to scale its store network, improve personalization, and invest in product innovation, the startup is positioning itself for broader market presence. The funding reflects a wider shift toward accessible, design-led fine jewellery in a competitive and fast-growing industry.
