Maritime technology company Ofiniti has agreed to acquire ZeroNorth’s electronic bunker delivery note (eBDN) business, including the Singapore-based legal entity BTS Pte. Ltd. The transaction will transfer the eBDN technology and its customers to Ofiniti’s Bunker Operating System upon completion. Financial terms and the completion date were not disclosed in the announcement made on 22 September 2026.

The Role of Electronic Bunker Delivery Notes

Electronic bunker delivery notes replace paper documents used to record marine fuel deliveries. They support digital documentation, reduce manual processes and improve transparency across the fuel supply chain. The transaction includes BTS Pte. Ltd., the Singapore based legal entity and license holder behind ZeroNorth’s eBDN solution, which will become part of Ofiniti.

Building a Unified Bunker Operating System

The acquisition brings ZeroNorth’s eBDN solution and its customers into Ofiniti’s digital delivery platform while ensuring service continuity for existing users. Ofiniti is developing a Bunker Operating System that connects supply, demand, delivery and infrastructure across the bunkering ecosystem. The company said the deal will strengthen its digital bunkering platform and help consolidate operations that have historically been spread across separate solutions.

ZeroNorth Sharpens Its Focus

For ZeroNorth, the sale is a deliberate portfolio decision as the company concentrates its bunkering investments on procurement, pricing and planning. These are the areas most closely connected to core shipping operations and voyage performance. ZeroNorth also plans to increase the use of agentic AI across voyage related workflows and to connect fuel decisions more tightly with vessel operations.

Singapore at the Center of Growth

Singapore is central to Ofiniti’s expansion and will play an increasingly important role in the company’s next phase. As the world’s largest bunkering hub, Singapore has established itself at the forefront of digital development in marine fuel operations. Ofiniti holds a significant share of Singapore’s digital bunkering market and is increasing its multimillion dollar investment in technology, talent and local presence.

Collaborating with Singapore’s Maritime Ecosystem

Ofiniti works within Singapore’s maritime ecosystem alongside organizations including the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, Singapore Shipping Association, Singapore Standards and Enterprise Singapore. The company said Singapore shows what can happen when regulation, standards, technology and industry move forward together. Its ambition is to strengthen capabilities in Singapore and apply those lessons to connect bunkering operations across global markets.

Leadership Perspectives

Ofiniti CEO Tue Raguse said bunkering has been built around fragmented systems, data and ways of working, and the company sees a huge opportunity to change that. He said Ofiniti is deliberately building an ecosystem that connects supply, demand and infrastructure. ZeroNorth CEO Søren Andersen said Ofiniti is well placed to take eBDN forward and continue developing it for the industry.

Company Profiles and Strategic Context

Ofiniti was founded within DNV and became an independent company in September 2024. It now serves more than 200 customers globally and has processed more than 50,000 bunker operations to date. ZeroNorth was founded in 2020 and provides software and data solutions that help ship owners, operators and charterers improve voyage performance, vessel operations and bunker decisions.

The transaction is Ofiniti’s third acquisition since its spinout from DNV, following Angsana Technology and Teqplay. It reflects the ongoing digitalization of marine fuel operations, where electronic bunker delivery notes replace paper documents and improve documentation, compliance and data sharing. Both companies plan to work together with customers to ensure a smooth transition and continued service after completion.
