Monnet Payment Solutions, a Peruvian fintech specializing in payment infrastructure, has launched its Virtual Accounts service to offer a unified regional collections infrastructure across Latin America. The solution enables regional and global companies to collect locally through a single technological integration. Initially available in Peru, Mexico, and Argentina, the service is designed to simplify cross-border operations and reduce payment friction for businesses expanding across the region.
Addressing Regional Payment Complexity
Companies operating in Latin America often face fragmented banking systems and country-specific regulatory complexity. Traditionally, expansion requires establishing local entities and managing multiple bank accounts, increasing operational burden and cost.
Monnet’s Virtual Accounts function as unique virtual account identifiers linked to a primary collection account. These identifiers can be assigned to customers, suppliers, or partners, allowing companies to receive local-currency payments in a fully segmented and traceable manner. Through a single API integration, businesses can automate collections, enable open-amount payments, and reconcile transactions in real time or according to local banking rail timelines.
A Unified Infrastructure for Growth
By centralizing collections through one integration point, the platform reduces operational friction and simplifies reconciliation across markets. The service supports instant or fast bank transfers depending on local rails, provides immediate payer identification, and assigns a fixed virtual account per end user or merchant to improve traceability and conversion.
The infrastructure is positioned for use cases including B2B payments, marketplaces, SaaS platforms, EdTech, logistics, and gig economy operators. Companies can collect locally without requiring users to open traditional local bank accounts, enabling faster and more scalable regional expansion.
Strategic Vision and Market Impact
In the announcement, Franco Zurita, Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Monnet Payment Solutions, stated that the objective is to allow companies to operate in Latin America as if they had fully local infrastructure, while reducing costs and operational complexity.
Following its launch in Peru, Mexico, and Argentina, the company plans to expand the Virtual Accounts service to Chile and Colombia in the coming months. The rollout reinforces Monnet’s strategy of building a scalable, API-driven payment infrastructure layer for the Latin American market.
