Moment, a company developing an AI operating system for the investment management sector, has successfully closed a $78 million Series C funding round. The round was led by Index Ventures, with continued support from Andreessen Horowitz, Avra, and other existing investors. This new capital injection will fuel Moment's mission to modernize financial infrastructure with artificial intelligence and expand its platform's capabilities.

Strong Investor Confidence and Rapid Growth

This funding arrives less than ten months after a $36 million Series B, also spearheaded by Index Ventures, bringing Moment's total capital raised to $134 million. Jan Hammer of Index Ventures expressed strong conviction, stating that leading wealth firms are betting their future on Moment's architecture. This repeated investment underscores the venture firm's belief in Moment's potential to define the AI era of investment management.

Adoption by Industry Giants

The company has seen remarkable growth, now supporting firms that collectively manage over $10 trillion in client assets, a significant increase from $300 billion just 18 months ago. Industry leaders such as Edward Jones, LPL Financial, and Hightower Advisors are among the major firms building their operations on Moment's platform. This rapid adoption highlights an accelerating trend of AI integration within major financial institutions.

Enhancing Advisor and Client Experiences

According to Russ Tipper of Edward Jones, Moment's platform is crucial for pairing AI with the right infrastructure to generate personalized client proposals in seconds. Similarly, Randy Bullard noted that Hightower is leveraging the platform for a more unified managed account experience across portfolio and tax management. Both testimonials point to the platform's ability to enhance advisor efficiency and the overall client experience.

A Unified AI Operating System

Moment positions its platform as a comprehensive operating system, designed to replace the historically fragmented software landscape in investment management. Traditional workflows often rely on a patchwork of separate tools for tasks like rebalancing, reporting, and compliance. The company aims to consolidate these functions into a single, cohesive environment where AI agents can operate securely and effectively.

Transforming Investment Workflows

The platform enables firms to deploy specialized AI agents that can build custom portfolios from simple natural-language instructions, compressing hours of work into moments. It also performs complex, multi-asset portfolio optimization while layering in tax-aware strategies and coordinating gains and losses. Furthermore, surveillance and compliance agents continuously scan accounts to identify opportunities and ensure regulatory adherence in real-time.

With this new $78 million in funding, Moment is well-positioned to continue its expansion and deepen its impact on the wealth management industry. CEO Dylan Parker emphasized that Moment provides the foundational infrastructure necessary for financial institutions to safely deploy AI agents in a regulated field. The company's progress signals a significant shift towards AI-driven operations in the world of finance.
