MiiHealth AI has closed a seed funding round for an undisclosed amount to accelerate the development and deployment of its agentic artificial intelligence platform for patient intake. The round was led by Russell Glass, former CEO of Headspace and founder of Arteria Capital, with participation from physician angels, healthcare operators, and digital health founders. The Phoenix-based company aims to reduce administrative workloads by automating patient intake before clinical visits.
Automating the Front Door of Care
MiiHealth AI has developed DAINA, short for Dynamic AI Intake and Navigation Agent, a conversational medical assistant designed to interact directly with patients before appointments. The system autonomously calls patients, conducts multi-turn clinical interviews in their preferred language, and captures structured medical histories without requiring clinicians to participate. It then generates clinician-ready intake notes that can be placed directly into the patient's electronic health record.
By moving routine intake work outside the consultation room, MiiHealth AI says DAINA can reduce repetitive questioning and documentation for healthcare professionals. The company estimates that its technology can give providers back more than two hours per day, creating additional capacity for patient care and billable clinical activities. Health systems can also use the platform to increase throughput without proportionally expanding administrative staff.
Clinical Validation and Provider Impact
DAINA has already undergone clinical validation in healthcare environments, including a cardiology deployment at Mayo Clinic involving hundreds of patients. According to MiiHealth AI, the deployment demonstrated provider time savings while patients reported high levels of comfort and trust when sharing sensitive medical information with the conversational assistant. Russell Glass said the platform saved more than eight minutes per cardiology encounter during the Mayo Clinic deployment.
The company is positioning its technology as an alternative to traditional digital intake forms and manual pre-visit workflows. Instead of requiring patients to complete static questionnaires, DAINA conducts voice-based conversations using specialty-specific clinical protocols and can identify relevant histories and potential red flags. The resulting information is structured to help clinicians quickly understand a patient's condition when opening the chart.

MiiHealth AI's broader platform combines DAINA with MediiFlow, its underlying intake automation engine, to support healthcare organizations across the pre-visit process. The technology includes multilingual voice interactions, structured clinical data capture, automated note generation, and integration with major electronic health record systems through standards including HL7v2. The company says its infrastructure is designed with auditability, security, and enterprise healthcare requirements in mind.
Founder and CEO Kelvin Summoogum said the financing will support the company's efforts to strengthen its clinical AI capabilities and broaden its presence across the healthcare technology ecosystem. MiiHealth AI plans to expand its engineering and AI teams, add more specialty-specific protocols, and improve DAINA's clinical reasoning and safety checks.
