Sydney-based medtech startup Medow Health AI has secured a new $3 million follow-on funding round from its existing clinician investors. The company uses artificial intelligence to automate medical report generation for specialist doctors, aiming to cut administrative burdens and free up time for patient care. This latest raise builds on rapid commercial traction and underscores growing confidence in AI-powered tools tailored to clinical workflows.

New Funding Round Backed by Specialist Clinicians

The $3 million round was led by the same group of medical specialists who participated in Medow Health’s initial raise earlier this year. Rather than broadening the investor base, the company leaned on its early adopters, who were already using the platform in their day-to-day practice. Their decision to reinvest signals strong conviction in the product’s performance and the company’s execution.

Founders Inspired by Firsthand Experience in Healthcare

Medow Health was co-founded by brothers Joel and Josh Freiberg, who both grew up around the healthcare system. Joel’s experience living with Crohn’s disease and watching their father, a respiratory physician, spend long hours completing paperwork after clinic directly informed the company’s mission. The startup was built to tackle exactly that pain point, aiming to reduce repetitive documentation tasks that keep clinicians at their desks instead of with patients.

Earlier Capital and Returning Investors

In January, Medow Health raised an earlier $2 million round from prominent Australian clinicians and health leaders. Backers included Chris O’Brien Lifehouse CEO Dr Michael Boyer, orthopedic surgeon Dr Michael Solomon, and eye surgeon Dr Johnny Wu. All three have returned for the latest financing, reaffirming their support as both customers and investors.

Rapid Revenue Growth and Scaling AI Workload

Since the start of 2025, Medow Health has posted revenue growth of 300 percent, reflecting mounting demand for its AI reporting tools. The platform’s technology now processes more than 100,000 specialist consultations every month, handling documentation at a scale that would otherwise require substantial human effort. A successful pilot at a leading Australian hospital has further validated the product’s reliability and suitability for high-volume clinical environments.

Expansion into New Zealand and Southeast Asia

Beyond its home market in Australia, Medow Health has already expanded into New Zealand and Southeast Asia. According to co-founder and CEO Joel Freiberg, the platform has seen strong uptake in both regions, particularly among specialists seeking more efficient ways to manage documentation. These early international results demonstrate that the problem Medow addresses is not confined to one health system or geography.

Product Roadmap and Path to Profitability

Freiberg said the fresh capital will be used to roll out new AI products for specialist communities across the country and deepen integrations with core healthcare systems. The company plans to focus on features that align tightly with the day-to-day workflows of doctors, rather than generic AI tools that sit outside existing systems. Management expects this combination of product expansion and operational efficiency to carry Medow Health to profitability within the next 12 months.

Focus on Interoperability and Strategic Partnerships

Medow Health positions its edge not only on AI quality but also on its ability to integrate with established healthcare infrastructure. The company has developed products tailored for environments such as the Meditech-powered Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and has built integrations with platforms like Meditech and Genie, with more in the pipeline. A long-standing partnership with health technology firm Magentus, established nearly three years ago, further anchors its strategy around interoperability within complex hospital and clinic ecosystems.

By pairing clinician-led investment with rapid revenue growth and strong product-market fit, Medow Health is emerging as a notable player in AI-driven medical documentation. Its focus on specialist use cases, seamless system integrations, and international expansion positions the company to benefit from rising demand for automation in healthcare. If it delivers on its plan to reach profitability within a year, the startup could become a reference point for how AI can be embedded responsibly and effectively into everyday clinical practice.
