AI-driven health solution provider Mediac has announced a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KMI Korea Medical Institute and SalusCare. This collaboration aims to deploy an advanced AI-based questionnaire system, ultimately creating a more streamlined, patient-centric, and data-integrated healthcare journey for millions.
Modernizing the Patient Intake Process
The initiative directly targets the patient questionnaire stage, a part of the health screening process often criticized for being repetitive and cumbersome. The core objective of the agreement is to enhance this initial interaction, making it more efficient and improving the overall user experience. By focusing on this foundational step, the three organizations plan to expand data-driven services across the entire pre- and post-examination continuum.
Under the agreement, Mediac's AI-powered questionnaire system is scheduled for implementation across KMI Korea Medical Institute's facilities by the first half of 2026. Once fully deployed, the system is expected to be utilized by approximately 1.5 million examinees annually. This large-scale adoption signifies a major shift toward leveraging technology to improve both operational workflow and patient satisfaction in preventative healthcare.
An Innovative Conversational Interface
The key innovation of Mediac's system is its conversational, story-type interface, which replaces the conventional checklist format. This design guides users through questions in a more natural, dialogue-like manner. The system intelligently reorganizes questions by context and pre-filters duplicate entries, significantly reducing the response burden on the individual.
The anticipated results of this technological upgrade are substantial, with Mediac projecting a 24 percent reduction in the time required to complete the questionnaire. Furthermore, the number of clicks needed from the user is expected to decrease by around 28 percent. These metrics point to a much smoother and faster intake process, allowing for a more focused and pleasant patient experience.

This partnership's ambitions extend well beyond the initial system rollout, with plans to broaden the scope of cooperation. The three companies intend to integrate further services, including nutritional surveys, customized examination guidance, and comprehensive post-screening follow-up care. The ultimate goal is to establish a seamless, data-driven service that supports patients throughout their entire health journey.
Lee Kwang-bae, Chairman of KMI Korea Medical Institute, stated that he expects to “secure high-quality questionnaire data and utilize accumulated screening data more precisely.” He emphasized that this will serve as a foundation for enhancing the overall quality and completeness of their health screening services. This data-centric approach is central to their strategy for continuous service improvement.
Representing SalusCare, CEO Ha Sung-wook noted that the collaboration will establish a basis for providing personalized health management services. He explained that integrating AI-based questionnaire and examination data will simultaneously increase on-site convenience and the utility of the data collected. This synergy is expected to unlock new value for both providers and patients.
Mediac CEO Lee Chan-hyung highlighted the importance of alleviating the burden of the initial questionnaire, as health screenings are a recurring experience for many. “We will contribute to improving the examinee experience by building a system optimized for the KMI environment,” he affirmed.
