Lyte, a next-generation perception company for robotics and Physical AI, has officially emerged from stealth, announcing $107 million in funding from top-tier investors. The Mountain View-based startup aims to equip robots with advanced perception capabilities, enabling them to safely see, understand, and interact with the physical world. Its launch marks a significant milestone for robotics and autonomous systems.

Founding Team and Expertise

Lyte was founded by Alexander Shpunt, Arman Hajati, and Yuval Gerson, the innovators behind Apple’s depth-sensing technologies and Microsoft Kinect. CEO Alexander Shpunt previously co-founded PrimeSense, the company whose 3D sensing technology became a core part of Apple’s depth platform. This founding team brings decades of expertise in sensing, perception, and integrated hardware-software systems to the Physical AI landscape.

Funding and Investors

The company has secured a total of $107 million in funding from prominent investors, including Fidelity Management & Research Company, Atreides Management, Exor Ventures, Key1 Capital, Venture Tech Alliance, and the group led by founding investor Avigdor Willenz. Willenz, a pioneering semiconductor entrepreneur, now serves as Lyte’s Chairman of the Board. The investment will support the development of Lyte’s unified perception platform for autonomous machines.

LyteVision: A Unified Platform

Lyte’s flagship product, LyteVision, combines advanced 4D sensing, RGB imaging, and motion awareness into a single integrated platform. The system delivers cohesive spatial and visual data, enabling autonomous mobile robots, robotic arms, quadrupeds, robotaxis, and humanoid robots to operate safely and efficiently. LyteVision is paired with an AI-driven software layer that evolves alongside breakthroughs in vision, language, and action models, giving Physical AI systems the ability to perceive, reason, and act with growing intelligence.

Addressing Industry Challenges

The robotics sector faces significant challenges, with McKinsey reporting that over 60% of industrial companies lack the expertise to implement robotic automation. Many teams currently spend months calibrating sensors and debugging multi-vendor perception systems. Lyte’s vertically integrated approach eliminates these inefficiencies, offering a fully unified stack that simplifies deployment and improves reliability.

Market Opportunity

The global AI robotics market is projected to reach $125 billion by 2030, reflecting surging demand for automation across industries. Lyte’s technology targets the critical perception layer that underpins safe and intelligent operation in complex environments. By focusing on end-to-end solutions, the company positions itself at the forefront of this rapidly growing market.

Industry Recognition

Lyte’s platform received recognition at CES 2026, winning a Best of Innovation Award in Robotics and being named an Honoree in Vehicle Tech and Advanced Mobility. Selected from a record 3,600 submissions, these accolades highlight the company’s innovative approach to Physical AI perception. Lyte will showcase its technology through private demonstrations during the CES event.

With a world-class team, substantial funding, and an integrated perception platform, Lyte is poised to redefine how robots interact with the real world. The company’s focus on safety, intelligence, and reliability sets a new standard for Physical AI systems. As Lyte moves forward, its technology could become the foundational layer enabling the next generation of autonomous machines.
