JIC Ventures has made its second investment in European medical technology by backing Carebot, a Czech company developing artificial intelligence for medical imaging. The Brno-based fund joined Carebot’s largest financing round to date, which exceeded €1.5 million and was led by Garage Angels and Electron Capital Partners. The investment reflects JIC Ventures’ view that medical AI succeeds through sustained clinical use, not technology and regulatory approval alone.

Clinical Adoption as the Key Test

Medical AI companies face a difficult path from technical validation to routine hospital deployment, even after securing certification. A CE mark confirms that a product meets regulatory requirements, but it does not prove that clinicians will trust it or incorporate it into established workflows. JIC Ventures therefore focused on Carebot’s ability to move beyond trials and become a dependable tool for radiologists across multiple healthcare systems.

Rapid Growth Across Hospitals

Carebot has expanded quickly over the past year, tripling the number of hospitals using its technology and increasing contracted monthly recurring revenue by 750%. Signed agreements could support more than tenfold growth by the end of 2026, according to the company. Its systems are already used by hundreds of hospitals in more than ten countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Vietnam.

A Broader Medical Imaging Portfolio

The company offers three CE-certified products supporting radiologists across several areas of diagnostic imaging. Carebot AI CXR analyzes chest X-rays, AI Bones assists with fracture detection, and Carebot AI MMG supports mammogram interpretation in breast cancer screening. The portfolio gives hospitals access to practical AI tools that can be integrated into different diagnostic workflows.

Clinician Trust Drives the Investment

JIC Ventures said direct feedback from radiologists played a major role in its decision to invest. Clinicians described cases in which Carebot identified findings that might otherwise have been missed, while its integration into hospital operations made regular use easier. Radim Kocourek, managing partner at JIC Ventures, said this combination of clinical trust and effective deployment could support the emergence of a European medical AI leader.

A Consistent Medtech Strategy

Carebot follows JIC Ventures’ earlier investment in HTG Medical, another Czech healthcare technology company focused on practical adoption. HTG Medical developed an MDR-certified device that automates hourly urine-output monitoring in intensive care units, reduces manual transcription, and sends data directly into hospital systems. The product was validated at Prague’s IKEM cardiovascular intensive care unit before the company began expanding into Western Europe.

Scaling Beyond Approval

The two investments illustrate JIC Ventures’ strategy of backing certified technologies that have already demonstrated value in clinical settings. The fund considers regulatory approval an entry requirement rather than proof of commercial success, especially in healthcare markets where procurement, integration, and clinician acceptance can delay adoption. Its approach draws on more than two decades of ecosystem development in Brno and a focus on companies capable of turning innovation into routine care.

Preparing for Expansion

Carebot is now seeking up to €10 million in additional financing to support global expansion and accelerate commercial growth. The company plans to strengthen local teams, enter more healthcare markets, and introduce tools designed to help clinicians detect disease earlier. It is also pursuing partnerships with major pharmaceutical companies while aiming to retain its core expertise, product quality, and development capabilities internally.

Carebot’s latest funding marks another step toward making artificial intelligence a standard part of medical imaging and hospital care. For JIC Ventures, the investment reinforces its belief that Europe’s strongest medtech companies will be those that earn clinicians’ confidence and prove their value inside complex healthcare systems. As Carebot expands internationally, maintaining that trust while scaling its platform will remain central to its long-term growth.
