Influence Media Partners has made a strategic investment to support the launch of IPNation, a UAE-headquartered platform focused exclusively on Arabic music catalogs and entertainment intellectual property across the Middle East and North Africa. The new company is targeting an investment size of $100 million and plans to acquire, develop, and expand culturally significant music and entertainment assets from the region. The initiative is positioned as an effort to bring more institutional capital into Arabic creative rights while building long-term commercial value around established cultural properties.

A Dedicated MENA IP Investment Strategy

IPNation will invest across music masters, publishing rights, artist brands, name, image and likeness rights, and other entertainment intellectual property originating in the Arab world. Its strategy extends beyond acquiring rights, with the company planning to optimize existing income streams and create new revenue opportunities through active management and commercialization. The platform is currently evaluating opportunities involving legacy music catalogs, publishing assets, artist estates, entertainment rights, and other culturally important intellectual property throughout MENA.

Founders Combine Music and Investment Experience

The company was founded by Eddy Maroun, co-founder of regional streaming platform Anghami, and Jose Maria Dot, who previously served as Chief Investment Officer of Multiply Group, now 2PointZero, and as Managing Director at FTI Capital Advisors. Maroun serves as Chairman and Chief Innovation Officer of IPNation, while Dot leads the business as Chief Executive Officer. Their backgrounds bring together regional music industry experience and investment expertise as the company seeks to create an institutional platform around Arabic entertainment rights.

Turning Rights Into Entertainment Franchises

IPNation plans to develop acquired assets beyond their traditional music formats, aiming to transform selected intellectual property into broader entertainment franchises. Potential extensions include immersive experiences, live shows, films, documentaries, merchandise, gaming, licensing, AI-powered derivatives, and new forms of fan engagement. This approach is designed to increase the value and reach of acquired rights while creating additional ways for artists, estates, and rights holders to connect with audiences across regional and international markets.

Influence Media Brings Global Rights Expertise

New York-based Influence Media Partners specializes in acquiring, managing, and creating value from music and entertainment intellectual property and is led by founder and Co-Managing Partner Lylette Pizarro McLean. The company is supported by strategic partnerships with funds and accounts managed by BlackRock and has invested in rights associated with artists including Future, Enrique Iglesias, and other prominent creators. Its backing gives IPNation access to an established investment and rights-management partner as the platform builds its acquisition pipeline in MENA.

Addressing an Underrepresented Asset Class

The launch comes as music catalogs have attracted growing interest as alternative assets, while Arabic music and entertainment rights remain comparatively underrepresented in global institutional investment portfolios. IPNation argues that the region combines substantial cultural influence with expanding digital consumption, creating opportunities to professionalize ownership and monetization models around established creative works. By pairing catalog acquisitions with active development, the company intends to generate recurring income while pursuing additional growth from new formats, licensing channels, and international audience expansion.

IPNation's launch introduces a specialized investment vehicle focused on bringing institutional capital and active rights management to Arabic music and entertainment intellectual property. With Influence Media Partners providing initial backing and the founders combining experience in regional music and large-scale investment, the company aims to build a portfolio of recognizable assets with both recurring revenue potential and broader entertainment applications. Its progress will depend on the quality of acquisitions and its ability to expand regional cultural properties into durable, globally relevant franchises.
