InvestiFi, a financial technology firm providing digital investment services for community banks and credit unions, has successfully closed a $20 million funding round. The investment was led by Vibe Credit Union and marks the largest capital injection to date for a fintech focused exclusively on this sector. This new capital will fuel the expansion of its embedded investment platform, aiming to help community institutions retain assets and better compete with larger financial players.

Meeting Modern Investor Demands

The funding addresses a significant shift in consumer behavior, particularly among younger generations who increasingly engage with digital investment tools. Research from Cornerstone Advisors indicates that nearly half of Gen Z and Millennial consumers are investing, with many moving funds to third-party applications. This trend presents a challenge for community financial institutions, which risk losing deposits and weakening customer relationships as a result of this capital outflow.

InvestiFi's platform is designed to counteract this by integrating investment capabilities directly within a credit union or bank's existing online portal. This embedded approach allows account holders to invest without leaving their trusted financial ecosystem, creating a more seamless and secure user experience. The goal is to provide a competitive alternative to standalone brokerage apps and neobanks that have captured a large share of the market.

A Story of Rapid Market Adoption

The company's significant growth trajectory underscores the strong market demand for its solution, scaling from just four clients in 2024 to over 60 signed institutions in less than two years. This rapid adoption highlights a pressing need among community financial institutions to modernize their offerings and meet evolving customer expectations. The platform provides a turnkey solution for these institutions to launch sophisticated wealth-building tools without extensive internal development.

A key differentiator for InvestiFi is its patent-pending "Investing from Checking" feature, which facilitates a unique flow of funds. This technology allows users to trade stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies directly from their checking or savings accounts, eliminating common friction points like transfer delays. The platform also supports various account types, including IRAs and guided investing portfolios, to serve a broad range of investor needs.

Strategic Backing from Industry Leaders

The funding round saw significant participation from strategic partners, including BankTech Ventures and numerous credit unions that are also clients. Carey Ransom of BankTech Ventures noted that InvestiFi's impressive growth demonstrates how effectively it is solving a critical problem for community institutions. This direct investment from the industry it serves provides a powerful endorsement of the company's model and mission.

Kian Sarreshteh, CEO of InvestiFi, stated that the capital will be used to scale the platform and maximize adoption among end-users. He emphasized the importance of client-investors, viewing them as believers in the mission to democratize investing and ensure community institutions can thrive. Jeff Pascoe of Vibe Credit Union echoed this, highlighting the need for credit unions to support members' entire financial journey, including wealth creation.

This $20 million investment positions InvestiFi to accelerate its mission of empowering local financial institutions across the United States. By providing the necessary tools to offer integrated digital investing, the company is helping credit unions and community banks strengthen member loyalty and retain critical deposits. The strategic backing from its own clients signals strong confidence in its ability to shape the future of community-based financial services.
