Infoblox, a prominent leader in hybrid multi-cloud security, has officially completed its acquisition of Axur, a global provider specializing in AI-powered digital risk protection. This strategic transaction significantly bolsters Infoblox's preemptive security offerings, enabling the company to address external threats across a rapidly expanding digital landscape. The integration of Axur’s technology is set to provide customers with a more comprehensive and proactive defense against cyberattacks.

Expanding Preemptive Security Capabilities

The acquisition strategically extends Infoblox's security perimeter beyond traditional network boundaries to manage risks that exist outside of a customer's direct control. Scott Harrell, CEO of Infoblox, emphasized that the combination allows the company to dismantle malicious infrastructure before it can be weaponized against enterprises. This proactive stance now covers critical arenas such as social media, mobile app stores, and the dark web, where modern threats frequently originate.

Launch of Digital Risk Protection Services

A primary outcome of this deal is the immediate launch of Infoblox's Digital Risk Protection Services (DRPS). This new service utilizes multi-modal AI to scan more than 40 million URLs daily, actively discovering threats like phishing, brand abuse, and executive impersonation. Upon validating a real threat, the service automates the takedown of the malicious infrastructure at a significant scale.

The external threat intelligence gathered by DRPS is engineered for immediate, decisive action by feeding directly into the Infoblox Threat Defense™ platform. This seamless integration facilitates the instant blocking of malicious destinations while takedown procedures are simultaneously in progress. It also empowers organizations to identify which internal assets are connecting to these threats, attributing risk with greater precision.

A Foundation for Continuous Threat Management

This acquisition also lays the groundwork for a more holistic security framework through Continuous Threat Exposure Management. The newly introduced DRPS capability serves as the inaugural component of the broader Infoblox Exposure Management portfolio. This platform is slated for expansion over the coming months to deliver an ongoing and measurable approach to risk reduction across an organization's complete attack surface.

Synergizing Threat Intelligence

The merger creates a powerful synergy by combining two highly complementary threat intelligence methodologies. While Infoblox has historically focused on DNS-level threat detection, Axur specializes in identifying how threats emerge across the wider digital ecosystem. Dr. Renée Burton, Infoblox's Vice President of Threat Intelligence, noted this fusion provides customers with clearer visibility and greater confidence in their response strategies.

This combined intelligence will offer richer context on emerging threats and significantly improve the attribution of malicious campaigns. It enables a more proactive disruption of attacks, a crucial advantage as adversaries increasingly leverage AI to scale their fraudulent activities. Fabio Ramos, CEO of Axur, stated that becoming part of Infoblox allows them to scale their mission globally and deliver a more proactive security approach.

The completion of the Axur acquisition marks a significant evolution for Infoblox, positioning it to offer a more robust, end-to-end security solution. By integrating external threat discovery with its core network security strengths, the company is better equipped to protect clients from a diverse and growing range of digital risks. The planned integration of Axur's capabilities promises to deliver a more comprehensive and forward-thinking approach to cybersecurity for enterprises worldwide.
