InduPro, a biotechnology company pioneering therapeutics based on membrane protein relationships, has announced two significant milestones. The company successfully closed a $77 million Series B financing round and simultaneously dosed the first patient in its Phase 1 clinical study for IDP-001. This funding will accelerate the development of its lead oncology program and advance its broader preclinical pipeline in cancer and autoimmune diseases.


Strategic Financing to Fuel Clinical Progress

The financing was led by The Column Group, with strong participation from both new and existing investors. Notable participants include Vida Ventures, MRL Ventures Fund, Emerson Collective, and new backers Solasta Ventures, Sanofi, and Eli Lilly and Company. These proceeds are earmarked to support the Phase 1 clinical development of IDP-001 and generate crucial early proof-of-concept data for the novel therapeutic.

Prakash Raman, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of InduPro, expressed gratitude for the support from the distinguished group of investors and strategic partners. He highlighted their shared belief in the potential of the company's proximity-guided platform to create precision therapeutics for challenging diseases. With the trial underway, Raman emphasized the team's commitment to disciplined clinical execution and noted the strong early interest from clinical investigators.

Addressing a Critical Gap in Cancer Treatment

The first-in-human clinical trial for IDP-001 is an open-label study designed to evaluate its safety, tolerability, and preliminary antitumor activity. It is currently enrolling adults with advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer and other squamous solid tumors. The study focuses on patients whose disease has progressed following standard-of-care treatments, representing a population with significant unmet medical needs.

Many recent advances in precision oncology have had limited success in squamous cancers, which often lack the actionable driver mutations targeted by other therapies. This has created a pressing need for new therapeutic strategies built around the shared biology of these malignancies. InduPro aims to fill this void by expanding the reach of effective antibody-drug conjugate therapies beyond current limitations.

Innovative Science Behind IDP-001

IDP-001 is a potential first-in-class bispecific antibody-drug conjugate that targets both EGFR and a novel Tumor-Associated Proximity Antigen. This dual-targeting mechanism was designed using InduPro’s proprietary platform, which maps the spatial organization of proteins on the cell surface. The platform identifies unique protein pairings that exist in close proximity on cancer cells but not on healthy tissue.

According to Amanda J. Redig, M.D., Ph.D., InduPro's Chief Medical Officer, this differentiated biology may enable IDP-001 to achieve significant clinical activity with a wider therapeutic window. The goal is to harness the power of biological proximity to deliver a potent therapeutic effect directly to tumors while minimizing off-target toxicity. This approach could translate into improved outcomes for patients who currently have very few effective treatment options available.

Strong Investor Conviction and Pipeline Potential

The strong backing from investors underscores confidence in InduPro's unique scientific approach. Sarah Hymowitz, Ph.D., Partner at The Column Group and InduPro Board Chair, stated that the company's platform has opened a new window into cell-surface biology. She praised the team's ability to use these insights as a powerful engine for discovering selective co-target pairs and building a compelling pipeline.

Targeting EGFR has historically been challenging due to the difficulty of balancing antitumor activity with toxicity. InduPro's strategy of simultaneously targeting EGFR and a novel proximity antigen is designed to enhance tumor selectivity and promote target internalization. This innovative method aims to overcome previous limitations and expand the therapeutic potential of targeting this well-validated oncogenic driver.


The successful $77 million financing and the initiation of the IDP-001 clinical trial mark a pivotal moment for InduPro.
